Reed Mahoney and Canterbury link

So here is the link towards the rumour, Mahoney expressed interest but is leaving it til last minute to let Parramatta counter offer which is respectful and i think Parramatta will snare him after that, seeing what it is his market has dictated considering Canterbury are the only other real suitors it could be as simple as going over slightly to secure him or giving him a 4 year deal that may lead him to stay. The things that are said by him sound professional, remember Martin Taupau meeting with an Eels official? nothing came of it. This happens a lot same with DCE when he backflipped on Gold Coast he toured Cronulla and Luke Lewis same with us before going to Cronulla. So could he go? very possible but him giving Parra a chance to talk to him is promising, meetings happen and it is part of the business and who knows perhaps Mahoney did this to raise the price given by Parramatta? I believe that is also plausible.

        • Oh my apologies

  • The Bulldogs have stepped up their pursuit of off-contract Eels star Reed Mahoney over dinner at a Chinese restaurant hosted by the club’s biggest hitters.
Canterbury has launched a multimillion-dollar bid to sign Parramatta Eels hooker Reed Mahoney over a private dinner at a Chinese restaurant on Tuesday night.
The Daily Telegraph has obtained footage from the Dynasty restaurant inside Canterbury Leagues Club where the club’s heaviest hitters met with Mahoney, who comes off contract after next season.
Bulldogs head coach Trent Barrett was at the meeting along with general manager of football, Phil Gould, club chairman, John Khoury along with Mahoney and his manager, Sam Ayoub.
Before dinner, Mahoney was given a tour of the Bulldogs’ facilities at Belmore Sports Ground. Mahoney told Canterbury officials he was impressed with the facilities and would make a decision within the next fortnight.
The hooker was upfront with the Bulldogs, telling them he wanted to speak with Parramatta before finalising his decision.
Mahoney, already linked to Brisbane, Gold Coast and the Dolphins, is free to officially explore his options for 2023 given he comes off contract after next season.

  • Maybe an apology is in order for the guys thar posted the Mahoney to bulldogs rumour blogs is in order . A lesson to be learned for the trigger happy mod(s) that deleted them.

    • No he posted that the deal was done

    • Nah he made up quotes from club officials. No issue with someone posting if they have inside info, or what they think will happen. But making up false quotes is a step too far.

    • Mods did the correct thing.

  • Curtis Scott just confirmed on Sunrise
