How good was Reed last night? Looks like he's finally added more attacking aspect to his game, a lot of runs from dummy half last night with resulted in a try and a try assist. Man of the Match last night for me. Hope it progresses & continues all year.

Reed was awesome. He told the media during the week that he needed to be more of a threat from dummy half and then went out and did exactly that. Plus 53 tackles no misses. What a little champion he is.
Reed is the type of player that even if he stuffs up you don't hold it against him because he always gives 200% , he's a tough crafty player .
He was brilliant
His passing, kicking and defensive game was at his usual excellent standard.
His running game was the best I have seen from him.
When he ran he tore them apart. Not got the speed of cook but matches him in pretty much everything else and is a better defender.
Massive game from Rheedy, he played like did in the 20's, not sure if it was him or the coaching staff but it was great to see. He was finally a threat out of dummy half, enagaged the markers and it totally changed the game. Hope he can keep it up.
Cook is the Origin rake and Cook ran 4 times for 25m against the Storm, whereas Mahoney fan 8 times for 109m.
Different opposition, yes, but if Mahoney can get into the backfield against the Storm like he did against the Broncos, that will be a huge contribution against the Storm.
Also, I recall seeing Mahoney in the lower grades and he played like he did against the Broncos. Now we just need him to be a run threat week in, week out.
Its awesome to see the motivation/improvement that a bit of competition for spots can provide. a definite improvement on his attack from last year.
Yeah agree, was great to see him run the ball.
If he can keep improving his attacking game and become a genuine threat from dummy half, he will win me back over.
In this modern game you need a hooker who gives you attacking options, especially if you want to compete with the best teams, its vital Reed gives us that.
Snake, is it just me, or did Mahoney lurk in the ruck like a (modern) fullback? He was sweating on offloads and this produced line breaks and that pass for Paulo's late try. I think if we all looked back over 2019-20 games we may see Mahoney lurking in the ruck but passing to another if he got an offload, whereas against Broncos he thought run-first and took off. We definitely need him to do that more often. It's the clearest way to convert what the commentators call the Eels' Power Game into field position.
Good observations Daz.
I feel he took advantage of the faster pace of the game and caught them napping a few times.
He caught em out, backed himself and got us back into the game.
Yes he was lurking more as you say and was really hungry that second half.
He should be somebody who is advantaged by the faster pace, especially in the back end of games where the defence is tired and still movingt into place.
I said in another blog that the game seems to be slowing down now for Reed. He's more confident in his skills & his command of his forwards. It was clear live that he wasn't afraid to bark orders to the likes of Junior, RCG and co.
