i am not much of a poster or blogger but I feel as though this kid needs a massive wrap. The first time I got to see him play was in the last under 20’s grand final and he was immense that day. He has come into our first grade side a real unknown but what separates him for the rest of the pack is his pure desire to win, I have not seen this in a parramatta player for a long long time. Yeah the last couple of years Moses shows emotion on the field and Gutho gives his all but Reed has this real competitive steal about him which tells me he doesn’t play this game for the fame or fortune, he plays it because he loves footy but most of all he plays the game he loves to win at all costs! He epitomises the saying “it isn’t the size of the dog in the fight, it is the size of the fight in the dog.” He was by far our best player last week in a side that had no ball and had to defend their line pretty well all game, he did that without ever giving up leading the game with 50+ tackles and he is well on his way to being our most consistent and best performer this year. He looks to me to lead the emotion on the field he is always over the moon or pissed off at what is happening,
All this talk of needing to resign Moses and Gutherson, I think we need to lock this kid down for a long extended period of time, he is definitely a future captain of our club and rep player. He is exactly what parramatta need to build a winning culture because he craves on it, he is addicted to winning he needs to win and for that I love this kid and I can see big things from him regardless if he is playing for us or not so I hope we can lock him down long term.

He sure is a great player for his size! He reminds me of a mixture of Sterling and Langer! Big heart and a future Origin player!

Looking at the signings of off contract players, and even those not at the end of this year, Reed is not amongst that list he's signed until end of 2020, meaning he is a free agent to be approached by other clubs. I have to say that he really is the future for the eels and hooking spot, we do need a back up though and likely to be Sneider and that wiill be a big battle and keep each other honest, Reed certainly for me is our 9 spot player and needs to be kept, he can only improve in his game play and that's what youth provides.
I have said out of the 19 off contract end of this year there are around 8 I believe should be resigned, primarilly each of those are at the oldest in the mid 20's or younger. We need to keep a couple of the older players for at least another year, I have my thoughts on which ones, to me I can find probably 4/5 who deserve to be signed again, some for one year the others for 2. Likely need only around 2 imports as the other spots can be filled from younger players, giving a good blend of youth and experience. Youth really is the way forward for the eels and the players are showing it.
Wenty had a tight win today and there are some good players there and with the Eels divorcing Wenty end of the year it will have a further benefit to the club and team, and not before time.
Good news is his father is a Parramatta nut. He will only get better as the season rolls on. I was also impressed with Ray Stone very tough old school player. Oregon gets better with every game! Great win!
