  I think the club has done a decent job recruitment and retention wise. Choc has begun showing why we bought him, and we have Foran, Scott and Gordon on the way. Retention wise, we're no longer throwing ridiculous amounts of cash at our own players. We're offering reasonable contracts and saying take it or leave it.

    I think the Eels are improving with recruitment, but their retention of players for years has been nothing short of pathetic. Cant judge a good junior to save their lives and the amount of good football players they have let go of over the years has been a disgraceful joke.

    Apart from the lousy coaches we have had in the past, the players if they stayed over the years, we could have had a precent decent football team

  The timing of upgrading Semi's contract was almost perfect.
  250k per year? An absolute master stroke IMO.

  We've bought what we needed. Our attack is fine and we have a pretty good attacking structure that has seen us score some short range tries as well as some long range ones. We've also brought in experienced players that we need to make sure we aren't putting too much pressure on the young players coming through and as a result the younger players will be better in the future. I'm not sure if the club can announce it but I'd like to know the contract situations with Twal, Fuimaono, Aloiai and French. These 4 are the must re-signs when it comes to players under 20.
