I have given up drinking about 18 months ago or so but still have the odd social drink. I noticed Poppa and Sir Col love cheap Wolf Blass wines. I did open up a Wolf Blass Grey Label which I got as a Fathers day present. It was really good and I recommend Poppa and Sir Col buy a bottle for Christmas and may be reuse the bottle with the cheaper stuff to impress family and friends. {only joking} It may be a good suggestion as a Christmas present if you don,t know what to pick. Other suggestions around wines welcomes.

What no Bloody Mary,s? Who comes up with these names?
One of those quantities over quality sort of guy?
I don't mind a shit on the grass.
If there is no grass around ---who cares.
When ya gotta, ya gotta go....
I only drink 2 times a year. When its my birthday and when its not my birthday
Clever response mate
For social gatherings with the 'lations who are lushes I always go for a quality $2.50 plagon. The more they drink the easier it is for me to tell them how good it is.
Decant into bottles with quality labels. Once served a whole plagon in a disused Glen Fiddich bottle and they loved it.
If going to the Nursing Home I am at the mercy of Poppa, I don't take whine to the NH. So normally $4.00 a bottle chardy is the go - just have to fight off that lush of a dog of his to get my fair share though.
I once was asked to taste 2 glasses of a Jamaican Rum. One bottle cost $400 and the other was the same brand but cost about $110 or so. I was asked which one I preferred. I had trouble making my mind and ended up picking the cheaper one. I think I understand what you are saying Sir Col.
I do however think you will be able to pick the difference with the Grey label. You can switch to the $2 stuff later on after.
