No, not the Pearl Jam song.
What's happened to the Aussie tradition of acknowledging the driver who let you merge into a lane?
I have spent a lot of time living overseas where this custom is non existent, it appears to be quickly on the decline here. (another changing of the guard)
I used to get the courtesy wave/acknowledgement 9/10 times, but there was always that one rude prick who you wished you didn't let in.
What's your experience with the acknowledgment wave these days on the road?

Bert youll be labelled a racist with those sort of comments by the PC brigade lol
There seems to be many people in this country desperate to get rid of all things Aussie, get rid of everything our forefathers fought and died for face down in the trenches of the Somme and Verdun, this countries going to shit.
Bert, any comment I made on my experiences would no doubt be deemed to be racist.
I always give a wave to anyone kind enough to let me into the lane when merging. I've never understood the stare straight ahead and pretend you can't see them mentality.
Sorry - I have to say it - It's un Australian :)
I wonder if Al still has that baseball cap with the rear view mirror stuck on hit. Remember he used to wear it when spending "special time" with his very close mate Raymond. It helped him maintain eye contact no matter what position he had assumed.
Al's an innovator :)
