I am actually fed up with the same news articles and reports of people complaining about the price of tickets for this fixture and the non-members being locked out. What the Parramatta Eels are doing is completely reasonable and fair in my opinion and I am going to explain why.

The Easter Monday match is a big event in the NRL calendar, especially for Parramatta Eels supporters and Wests Tigers supporters (mainly Parra because of our recent success in it).

When played at Commbank Stadium, there is a capacity of 30,000 seats. To put that into perspective, Parramatta have approximately 35,000 members. Naturally, you are going to give PAYING MEMBERS first dibs at those tickets. Unforunate for Tigers fans and non-member Parra fans, but that's the way life works. YOU PAY FOR THAT PRIVELAGE. I am a member and I'd be pissed if I missed out on tickets because non-paying members got them before me. That's why we become members.

Tigers fans complaining about this too and they can easily do the same for their home games but they don't because ticket demand does not excede stadium capacity.

What is the alternative that doesn't negatively impact paying members? There is none.

Look at English Premier League football matches. You are lucky to get a ticket if you're not a member. That's what happens when there is demand. That's life.

Note - You can buy membership for $60 a year. Just do that.

  • You do know if you are sick of people complaining, you can just not visit this website?

    • Is this a website exclusive to complaining about easter monday tickets? Didn't think so.

Also, I see it everywhere. Twitter, the papers, here. But thanks for your input.

      • But now you are complaining about complaining

        • We aren't all here to please Fiddy. Jog on.

  • Couldn't this just be added to the other ticketing complaint blog instead of starting a new one?

    • It could

  • From a market perspective they could move the game to a bigger stadium to accommodate more people wanting to go to the game... Of course that's not in the NRL club's best interest. For me? I'll just wait for a better game on say a Thursday night where half the stadium will be empty.
