  • Thanks Ricky, outstanding again mate.

  • Interesting we made more tackles than them, that surprised me.

Rick any chance of including line drop outs?

    • Indeed we did.
Not much more, but we were certainly made to defend our line on a few occasions especially.

Yeah, I can include line drop-outs.

That one was 3 to 2 in our favour.

  • Which makes the result all the more surprising from a statistical perspective.
We were certainly all over the top of them for much of the game, but looking at the stats alone, one could be mistaken for thinking it was a close game.

  • Certainly performing well.

And the presence of Foran allows him to run to the line more often, and get a half-break that can lead to opportunity.

  • Great work Ricky.

What stood out for me was- how many runs and metres the Raiders made out of dummy half compared to us.

    Dummy-Half Runs (m)
The Eels made just 41m from 5 dummy half runs in the game.
The Raiders made 165m from 23 dummy half runs in the game.

Also Jenko making the most one on one tackles with 5. Its shows just how good he is at reading the defence, he has raced out of the line plenty of times to nail the right runner and shut the play down. Beautiful to watch.

    • It wasn't so much of a surprise to me, if I'm perfectly honest.
We're not particularly noted for dummy half running, whereas the Raiders are.

Leilua and Rapana especially, tend to run a lot out of the backfield and even Wighton to some extent.
Because their forwards are good at getting quick play the balls, the backs or Hodgson get in quickly and look to exploit the markers that aren't square and make good metres.

And as for Jennings, he's a sound defender.
It's good to see that even he's improved in that regard across the board since coming over to the club under BA.

  • Impressive stats from Alvaro considering he only played 33 minutes. Definately earnt a bench spot
    • Alvaro is a hard-worker and it shows.

Very Hindmarsh-like in some respects in regards to his work-ethic.
Could certainly play longer minutes than he is but obviously the forward minutes have to be shared around.

  • Except for the scoreline there wasn't much between the 2 sides stats wise.
