RD 22 Team List v Dragons

Eels: 1 Corey Norman, 2 Jarryd Hayne, 3 Michael Jennings, 4 Clint Gutherson (c), 5 George Jennings, 6 Jaeman Salmon, 7 Mitchell Moses, 8 Siosaia Vave, 9 Reed Mahoney, 10 Tim Mannah (c), 11 Marata Niukore, 12 Tepai Moeroa, 13 Nathan Brown

Interchange: 14 Will Smith, 15 Kane Evans, 16 Peni Terepo, 17 Brad Takairangi

Reserves: 18 Bevan French, 19 David Gower, 20 Oregan Kaufusi, 21 Raymond Stone

Despite a rare win last-start, Eels coach Brad Arthur has implemented a major reshuffle. Rookie Jaeman Salmon starts at five-eighth with Corey Norman taking over at fullback, moving Clint Gutherson to centre, Jarryd Hayne to wing and Bevan French out with Will Smith returning on the bench.

  • Thank fuck no French!

    • Yep and we bring in smith, who arguably had an even worse game in his last start. Very sad times indeed.
  • How in hell do we still have two captains and ones Tim Mannah?

    • Ha ha ha
      " sigh "
  • Can only imagine Smith is more to cover for Salmon and that position than for the 9 spot. Gutho is in the centres and Norms at fullback. Its therefore possible for Gutho to slot in at 9 to give Mahoney a rest, or play there in set times as well.

French is on the extended bench

    • I think if Salmon needs a rest, Norman goes back to 5/8. This is an interesting backline, and may be a prelude to 2019. If Norman stays with us next year , fullback would be a good option. I still think he is at his best playing there.

    • If Norman believes he will be playing FB next season it will give him an incentive to find another club
  • Good try. Maybe wait until the club releases it haha

    • AAAARRRRHHHHH the team has been released on the eels web site and its as shown in this blog.

      • Who do Parra have to play against this week?

To be honest, I haven't known who our opponents would be each week for the past couple/or few months. I only watch our games if we won. Seeing how injury depleted our team was up untill a month or so ago, (still missing Manu, T-Rex, Kaysa, Matagi, & now French) why watch em' when you know we just didn't have the personnel to win?  It's like watching your mum get bashed and you can't do anything about it.

I use to watch all 8 games religiously every single week, plus a couple of Super League games too.

I don't watch the Thursday Night Footy Show on ch.9 or any NRL 360 shows anymore either.

I only watch The Matty Johns Show twice a week plus the Sunday Morning Footy Show and that's it.
