Ray Price's pre game rev up

Did anyone notice -

Just before the match as the players were lining up to acknowledge the legends, the great Ray Price gave the team one of his legendary rev ups. He let fly with the f-bombs telling Takairangi " no fukcing stupid passes. with taka almost bowing to his advice, shit scared as he looked into the master's eyes lol.

Ray then gave the rest of the team a few words telling them " play as fkcing one & no matter what happens never f-king give up", which came through loud and clear through the Fox feed.

It seemed every player that shook Price's hand almost bowed then stepped to one side as a gesture to his legacy.

Price's captaincy was the driving force behind those 4 80's premierships. Past players have stated that they could never give less than 110% as Ray Price led them onto the field.

  • This should be a weekly thing I believe. Every week one of the old legends start them off in the dressing rooms. Would be a good thing for the club and players.

  • I was about to blog the same thing It gave me goosebumps I noticed it for sure.

All the other legends were just shaking hands and being polite but Ray Price was laying the down the law to Taka and a few of the boys they were a little shocked they werent expecting that, what a Warrior it was bloody awesome to see.

I don't know what he said I'm hoping there's a lip reader on this site but for sure a few f bombs this and that, he put the fear of god in that team it was awesome to see.

  • He should be doing the half time talks instead of BA lol.

  • I thought  the team  had to proceed  further  pass  pricey to shake  the hands  of other former  greats and officials , ahhh ! What the heck

    • I noticed that. Most stopped at Price. Shocked , scared I dunno.

Only Tepai paid due respect and shook the rests hand which included Sterling.

Not a great look by the bulk of the team.

    • Yeah, saw that too. Think aside from Pricey firing up the boys, him standing at almost a 45 degree angle kinda made it look like he was the last Parra legend in line so that didn't help either & the players kept following each other away from Ray like sheep. BIG shout out for sure to Moeroa for seeing there was more people further down.

  • Great blog Chiefy. Gave me goosebumps. Mr Pepetual Motion was a great. Tough head. Tough body. A tough as nails leader. He set high standards and the highest of expectations for the team. Players were probably just as afraid of dissappointing Price as they were of Gibson, or Monie for sure. And we need to get tougher too.

  • Maybe they should play the old Manly versus Parra Tooheys ad before games. Pricey was only captain for the 86 premiership unless I'm mistaken.

    • No you’re correct. Steve Edge was captain in 81, 82 and 83.

The point I was making and obviously it was over your head, is what interference took place outside of the Coach and Hof.

"Not really, as proven on our day we are a good team, but I think that team is quickly sliding backwards."
