Rant.

I haven't done a blog on here in a while, but I've returned to vent my frustration. I always get hate for venting my frustration which is just wrong. I've been a loyal parra fan all my life. We are one of the biggest clubs in the league and we have been mediocre for too long. Take out 2009(which wasn't even a good season. Jarryd Hayne and momentum took us to the grand final) and we haven't been a good side and consistent side for a very long time.

There are so many things wrong with this club on so many levels.

Playing group - The players do not seem motivated enough. They aren't playing with pride. They're attitude is just not good enough. They don't leave it all out on the field. They seem content to go back into the dressing room and continue the week with a loss. Our failure to field a team that can stick together, work well together and play with passion for the shirt that they are wearing has been part of the reason to our failure. Team cohesion is not there. Perfect example is with JOSEPH PAULO. I think he is a great player. So does every other player and coach in the league. I guarantee you, if you put him in any other team, he will succeed. He is made out to look incompetent because none of our players ever run with him. He's not the kind of player to take hit ups, he runs with the ball, creates gaps, and every other player just sits 5 metres back watching him do nothing. If anyone watches NRL360, they would know from the player insights that all the other coaches place high emphasis on 'stopping Joseph Paulo' in their game plan. This is one of many issues in regards to team cohesion

.

Coaching staff - The fact that we have been through so many coaches over the past decade is just embarrassing. This links to the board. Okay, we have Brad Arthur now, who is respected by a lot of players, and has a plan. He was great last year, I loved the players he brought in, brought out. I liked his mentality. This year however, he is losing himself. The dropping of Chris Sandow last week was just stupid. Maybe it was his ego getting in the way? We would of won the game Vs Warriors if he was playing. That is without a doubt. Yet he still doesn't realise that, and he isn't selected again this week. Sandow isn't the problem. I love him in our team. Foran will be the best thing that's ever happened to him. Another thing that I have a big problem with. WHERE IS DARCY LUSSICK. I absolutely love that guy. Nobody in our team plays with more HEART than he does. If we can get him to stop making stupid ill-discipline mistakes, he would be the best forward in our team. I can't believe he isn't playing, and that he is most likely going back to Manly next season. Massive loss.

The (very existent) Board - I don't hear about any other teams ''board' more than Parramatta's. What is happening is a disgrace. It's just childish. How can a business be run like this? How can the team perform on the field, when grown men, businessmen and team legends can't even cooperate off the field? and I refuse to even comment on this salary cap issue. It's all shambles.

The fans - The fans have kept quite for too long. We are PARRAMATTA. We should DEMAND success. It's time for us fans to speak up. Being optimistic isn't helpful. Being butt-hurt about other fans being angry and voicing their frustration is just weak. Football is my life, and I want the team to do well. Aren't you all sick of being mocked and teased at work and at school and at home? Aren't you sick of consistently seeing your team lose? Demand success. Put up banners, demanding the board to get it together. Protest. Stand up to Ray Price who said "Parramatta is MY CLUB". It's not your club, it's OUR club. If it was up to me I would tear down his statute. Also, I was at the Eels vs Melbourne game, and the stadium was like a graveyard. It was so quiet. Was I at a funeral? It was a disgrace, and I actually did not enjoy being at that game because there was no atmosphere what so ever.

Things need to change around here, and I for one am fed up.

  • Hmmm... 2:11am. Try not to lose too much sleep over all these issues. I believe things are back on track now, with the current board stability and signings for next year. We'll be gaining some great players in Foran and Scott. We also have heaps of players off contract, which means we'll have a lot to work with under the cap. I'm hoping this will be our last season for a while, where the team has a stuffed roster. Next year mate, next year is where it's at.....

  • i think peter sterling should step in and take over hes smart loyal and he has never been involved with the dramas i think he could turn our club around
    • he will never be coach because of the board politics

  • Just about all of the media coverage in the past 24 hours has been so anti Parra it's not funny. Any mitigation from Dave Smith has not been reported and very few mention that we are now compliant with the cap going forward. I think Sterling has the platform to put some positive spin on a bad situation. He seems to be the only one vaguely interested in painting anything positive at Parra.
    • especially channel 7. A lot of their reports were completely incorrect. Saying we could lose "ALL" competition points next season.

  • Great Rant mate.
What I love about a good rant is that it has zero effect on the overall picture but yet many still love to vent just because it can release so much pent up frustration.
Believe me I should know as I'm a ranting champion on here.
    • You rant Frank????  Never!!!  lol.

Sadly mate our pre season rants were on the money.

  • For a start try & get your head around what's has happened over the lady couple days before shooting your mouth off. First this salary cap breach was between 2010 & 2014 when the old administration was in place. The current board took over this mess in 2014 appointing a new CEO in September that year. Straight away they found problems with the salary cap & notified the NRL. Since then they have been working very hard to try & change the old system & try rectify the problem working with the NRL. This is why it was so important to re-elect the current board, they have started a job & they need to finish it. Disgruntled past administration & players have been trying to take over what they lost only for self gain. Knowing full well, some where the cause of the current problem. What's happen in the past will not impact with any new signing or future because everything is now being done right. Understand this club is working hard to get to the top, it's so important to stick together now. And fan that feels they have had enough, walk away, walk find a new club to support. We need positive vibes from here forward, we need to surround ourselves around positive talk & get behind this club. There are supporters of other clubs here that love reading all this negative talk & take it back to there own supporter group & laugh at what's going on here. Things ain't going to change over night, but if you can't see the positives of what this club doing, you are choosing not to. Our coach can't pick the team we think should be on the park because of the implications this salary cap having. Be patient we're getting there!
    • I agree Tim
