Rangi Chase, Albert Kelly anyone?

Both off contract at years end with their SL clubs.Would be an upgrade to our current stocks.I see most bloggers already shutting these options down cause thats the norm on this site. Most of you's aren't contempt with the average solid option and always chasing some big fish which is fair enough but unless you's haven't thier is no big fish available. The other best options available are:Sam WiliamsJackson HastingsIsaac JohnCameron CullenBlake GreenBenji MarshallJamie SowardKodi NikorimaWil SmithDaniel MortimerJust pick one to put it frankly other wise we'll miss the boat again and once again we'll be looking at Luke Kelly for our next campaign.I honestly just think we need a stable toiler to organise our star backline. My preference would be Sam williams as he possese a half backs trait and he's no slouch around the park and also can kick goals which is another thing we lack next season.

  • Hell no to Rangi Chase.

The bloke's been to more clubs than a drunk teenager trying to achieve the Golden Mile.

As for Kelly, he's already come out and said he's happy at Hull KR and will see out his deal that he signed not too long ago.

  • Lets just bring back Ben Roberts......

  • wow!!!!! we are screwed ay???
  • Kelly could change his mind if offered a chance at NRL again maybe. He would be a great fit i don't think he was doing anything wrong when playing for us in the past. I dont understand why we let him go to the Titans. Game has matured alot over there.
    • Kelly was no more than immature but also a bit injury prone. However his time at Cronulla was marked with some off field drama's but much of it got back on track at the Titans & I thought he had some excellent games, he tackled above his weight which didn't help the injury side of things & a good competitor.

I think he would likely want too much & have heard nothing on how he is going in England.  I would not object to him coming back on a 2nd tier deal to see how he goes. Just had a look at his profile turns 26 next year & seems Hull want to keep him

  • Albet Kelly if we could get him wouldn't be to bad.

I'm just not to sure how two X factor type half's would go?

I'm not against it but someone generally has to guide the team around, the more structured player, and the X factor makes something happen when we get within earshot of the try line. That's how most good teams have worked, one genuine structured player and one X factor player. I can't think of a team with two X factor type play makers in it?

Can't hurt to try i suppose.

    • Kelly from my memory of watching him was x rather than X. Norman is a bit of both but if we then go & look at the seagulls when Foran & Cherry picker were playing at their best together both of them were X factors, but took the roles differently & they often interchanged to the other's side of the field as well.

Should he come to the Eels, he could very well form up a good working partnership with Norman, & both feed off each others strengths.

There would be a lot of others on this site who have seen him more than I have/did ever when here but the games I saw him play at Cronulla where he was again in some issues a reason he was let go, but he was typically young back then, he turns 26 next year, & has family now, maybe some sense in his head etc. Would not mind him coming at all. In fact he could actually work well with French, as I think Kelly had a good turn of speed as well.

  • Great point guys.... my thats right he went to cronulla first thanks for clarifying that Colin. Thats 1 thing i have noticed about how he has matured in England. He has learnt composure he sort of had too as the superleague is all about attack no defense lol. Thats what has made him stand out while he has been there. I have been watching him the last few yrs. Still has the X but now has composure. Also seems to have gotten iver his foot injury for a while now. Has put on the bulk too but still looking fit.
  • Not with someone else's money
  • Fark no .
