Raiders Vs Storm (on right now)

Is anyone else listening to the Raiders game or watching it on Fox? I know a lot of people give the Raiders shi*t on this site, but they still have some great players and a very close and exciting game on right now.

Raiders are playing Storm in Canberra. The Raiders won this same game last year to the surprise of many. Today has been overcast, cold and raining. Weather has actually been good in Canberra, up until about a week ago or so. You could say the Raiders now have a 'home ground weather' advantage (as well as been the regular home ground advantage). I heard on the radio the crowd is around 10k, which I reckon is pretty good considering the recent form of the team (sucking) and the rain.

Raiders were up 10-2 at half time (only 1 try to the Raiders), with Storm scoring 2 quick try's early in the second half - bringing the score to 14-10. We now have 10 minutes to go with the same score. Super low scoring - next team to score likely to win the game. What makes this particularly interesting is one of the Raiders big signings Sisa Waqa is up against his former team. Apparently he hasn't been making much of an impact this game, but I would love him to score a try to win this game. Nothing better than a good upset (except against the Eels!) and when one player makes an impact against his old team. Another example might be if Robinson scores a try against the Raiders when we play them later this year, or Ennis upsetting the Bulldogs haha...

Anyway, I hope you're all enjoying your Sunday afternoon. We're about to have a great game on with the Dragons taking on the Dogs :)

  • They are having a much bigger dig than the mob we cheered on yesterday.

    • It doesn't matter who's playing - but if they're making an effort, then it's a much better game to watch!

  • Ah, Storm won... but it came right down to the last minute !!

    • They got just as many points as we did this weekend.

  • They still lost to a Slater-less Storm outfit at home. Yeah we can give em kudos for "hanging in there" and "showing heart" in comparison to us and because they didn't get flogged but ultimately 2/6 and just about bang on with us on +/- t I hardly call their season something we should be aspiring to!
    • They at least had a go for 80mins unlike the soft cocks that ran out in Eels jersey's yesterday.

    • So what ? They still recorded a L. We were that pathetic yesterday that every single losing side this weekend will ultimately be proven to have shown a lot more heart in their performance. Not going to start using the Raiders as a bench mark for putting in when results prove they are as mediocre as we are.
    • The eels aren't mediocre. Mediocre means a team is average or okay but the eels aren't even at that level. So embarassed by the titans game
