Raiders eyeing our junior turf

The Parramatta Eels are aware of the Canberra Raiders' bid to establish a feeder club arrangement within their western Sydney heartland.

The Raiders have begun preliminary discussions with the Mounties in a bid to enter a side in next year's NSW Cup.

Canberra would send its players not required in its match-day NRL squad to the western Sydney club.

The Mounties play in NSWRL's second-tier competition, the Bundaberg Rum Cup, but are interested in moving up to the league's premier competition.

Complicating matters is the fact the Mounties' junior teams play in competitions organised by Parramatta Junior Rugby League.

Parramatta chief executive Paul Osborne has had a brief chat with Raiders chairman John McIntyre about the idea.

''I prefer to keep our discussions private at this point,'' Osborne said.

''I haven't been given anything official.''

    Well the Sharkies are reportedly a little short of cash atm so why not the Raiders.

    At least they are living up to their name.

    Robson took all the Sharlies spare cash that's why the Raiders are on the hunt for some of our young blokes. LOL

"Did you watch him play in this years final for Souths? He was owned by old man Gagai. Laurel went missing all game although he did pass the ball from dummy half a lot to the other outside backs to work it out of their end. Massive NO."
