So St. George Illawarra, Canberra and Redcliffe are all looking at Verrills for 2023. My question is should be looking at him also with JH's injury? or do some think we can do better?

I'd be shocked if all our eggs are in the Hodgson basket.
Prepare to be shocked.
We committed to him already and most fans with a brain called out the signing for what it is - fools gold. The unicorns told us he was a rep player, a leader, wouldn't be an injury concern etc and were quickly proven wrong, as they usually are.
The realists saw this coming a mile off. He lasted 7 minutes of the season before he redid his knee and is now facing retirement. O'neil and BA signed him anyway, because they chase fools gold.
I don't rate Verrils, particularly not for the money he'll go for. I'd make an enquiry with Cameron McInnes who is stuck behind Brailey at the Sharks
McInnes was always going to Cronulla knowing he wasn't going to play hooker though, he is now a lock. More of a Brandon Smith style player now for McInnes
Yeah it seems these are trying to turn him into a lock. Time will tell. Good player. If it doesn't work out and he needs a hooker starting position he could be a great pickup
Mcinnes didn't suddenly forget how to play dummy half. He just isn't being used in that role. He could easily play 9 again in the future.
Any hookers in the lower grades worth promoting as a potential star and backup for old man Hodgson
Yes good point . Mahoney himself made his way up to NRL from under 20's and our previous reserve grade type competition . So let's look at bringing up the next Mahoney from our lower grade stock of hookers.
Brandon Hands absolutely killed St George on the weekend, I believe he even got a try assist from a cross field bomb. If he keeps playing like that I wouldn't be surprised, especially if Reed plays origin, if he plays 1st grade this year.
Was that Hands? - I thought it was Rein?
