Quiet Hero

Big kudos to Taka. He's more valuable to this team than I think a lot of us credit. Big, strong, making better choices, defensively sound. Sad to see him robbed of a double tonight. Really enjoying Taka in the team.

  • Agree Timbo, Takas quality for the price we pay, his footy has improved under BA.

  • Very involved tonight and looking like he's gaining great confidence after he switched sides this year.
    Good defender as well.
  • Love the way he plays the type of player BA loves unique set of skills, team player leaves nothing out there.
  • I blogged about him a few weeks ago. He is Parra through and through these days I reckon.
  • Agree Timbo a very underrated player. He is an absolute team player, gives it everything.
Believe he is owed credit for semi being the player he has become too.

His defensive partnership with Guth is pure perfecto too.
  • Yes but wouldn't Radrada be scoring more tries outside him on the left? Taka looks better on the right, i just get the feeling we would be scoring double the tries if he switched back to the left inside Radrada. Jenko /Gutho just makes sense.

    • I agree. Though 200 games at left centre is hard to change. Our left would be more potent with last year's combo. But really happy to see Taka step up as he's the one who's switched.

    • Taka is my new favourite player - apart from foz . He can almost do anything
  • He's in career best form. He's not alone there though. I would say that the majority of players in this team are playing as well as or better than they have in there careers. From the young guys like junior and Edwards right through to guys who have played 10 seasons like Scott and jennings. Says a bit about the coach
  • Not too many 6 ft 4, 108 kg centres can move like Taka. He has speed, size, good hands, great under the high ball and solid in defence.

He gives up perfect balance on our outer edges, Jennings can step his way through, Taka can punch his way through and deliver a great ball to his winger.

The Tigers messed up reneging on his contract, how much would they love to have him now?

"I did modern day as 1998 onwards as I didn't see them play, as some here haven't. Where I believe majority of people here have seen all the modern day players play.
Plus it frees up some spots like we all know who 5/8 will be but now no idea."
