When Craig Catterick was sacked this year, it marked a near total wipe-out of what you might call "Parra people".
There seems to have been over the last few years, a very deliberate policy of rejecting everything that was Parramatta.
For my that boiled up into the farcical situation whereby, it seemed for all intent and purposes that our football team was going to be ripped out of Parramatta fullstop and transplanted to ANZ.
Now, there have been part of our culture that I've been critical of - I written planty of times that we've got a bit of a soft underbelly and have tended to lack a bit of killer instinct, however for the most part, I love our club and most everything that it stands for.
I get the argument, that sometimes you need an outsider to give some perspective, but this is Rugby League. It's build on passion. It's built on loyalty and commitment to a cause that's greater than ones-self. When you rip all of that out of a footy club, there's not a lot left.
I want to see more Parra at Parra. Whatever, appointments are made, I hope that they feel something special for this club.
Now, I'm not necessarily saying we need to bring back all the old boys, but I think as part of the healing process that we have to go through, we need to re-discover the essence of what makes Parramatta, and there at least needs to be a balance of folk around the joint, who are part of this great club, because they are willing to bleed for it.

PRIDE, PASSION, LOYALTY! PLEASE STERLO COME TO OUR CLUB EVEN AS AN ADVISER! WE NEED YOU!
#JT2PARRA
I agree thoroughly Phil.
Is it pure fantasy on my part or could we not seriously lobby for the [deep] blue & gold boy P. Sterling to take up his rightful position as Parramatta coach?? His talents are wasted in the media.
We need you more than ever Sterlo!
I think Sterlo has made it pretty clear, he's not up for coaching. However as Mutt said elsewhere, absolutely the best thing the board can do at this point is put together a sub-committee to review the coaching situation, and include the likes of Sterling and Hindmarsh on that.
This is why I reckon Taylor should be coach.
Sure, he's only played one season, but I reckon he'd be hurting for the club right now.
Yeh, that's why I'd prefer Taylor over Henry as well.
Speeches and great speakers have changed the world, our players would benefit from our legends giving great speeches, whether if its pre game, at half time or at training, legends influence people in ways you cant imagine, our legends need to be around the team.
It all adds to the soap opera that is the Parramatta Eels.
I personally think Stuart bit off more then he can chew at parra. He walked into a good situation at roosters that made him look good. He failed at the sharks because that too was a tough gig...
That's how I see it............
As for next coach they bring in, I think it might be good to bring in a few senior players and ask them who they think can do the job. Who will they lift for in 2014
