With the departure of Hayne at the beginning of the year, many so called "experts" said we would be a good chance for the spoon.
How we were nothing more than a "one man team", I think deep down the true eels fans knows that wasn't the case.
We have always had the talent, but the simple game plan of "pass it to Hayne" was the easy option.
Arguably, our squad is worst than last year.
The additional of Choc as the only major signing proved to be a project in the works. Our second string FB in Hoppa was not what it planned out to be. So really our option to use Reece is far from ideal. I'm not trying to make any excuses here for the games we should have won, but let slip this year.
However, if we win against Canberra tomorrow by 18 points, we will finish 10th - the same for-and-against differential and position on the ladder as last year.
With the well documented issues we had with the club this year, without our #1 offensive strike weapon this year - that my fellow 1eyedeels supporters is worth remembering.
So put on your blue and Gold jerseys, bring your family (and dad) to the game and pack the stadium tomorrow and give our boys something to strive for.
Cheer loud and be proud. The eels will rise again and be the powerhouse of the west.
Are you with me?

I tipped us to finish 10th........
I was a bit ambitious and went for 8th. With about 6 rounds to go, the eels playing finals footy was a very realistic opportunity.
We lacked direction in the halves and something Foz will provide next year.
He may not be our saviour, but i dare say he would have won us at least 2 extra games this year with his calmness.
If we can maintain a healthy roster, we should make our first finals appearance in 7 years.
My tip was somewhere between 2nd and 15th.
I'm not one to blow my own trumpet but once again my judgement has proven astute :)
I would be happy to equal last year... 10th spot
Speaking of tipping, how you going in the tipping comp snakie?
LOLLL.
To be where we are considering what Hayne did, then Sandow left plus a considerable injury toll on top of all that shows that BA has managed a cultural change at our club. We're finally competing, we've become a grittier side, hard to play against. You take that attitude and add some very decent signings plus the further development of our younger players, things will only get better.
