Am I a prophet of doom, or is next year looking more like a repeat of this one? I sincerely hope I'm wrong. JR may bring a fresh and more professional approach, but with several young players moving from the club, potential for other established players exercising their options in 26, 27, and a chronic need for recruitment (but who is there?), I'm finding it difficult to see this turning around next year, or even over the next couple. To me it seems alot is going to ride on the existing playing group for next year. If so, we are lacking in depth of players to draw upon when the inevitable injuries hit over a long season, as has been the case in 24.
Is there anyone in our group who can offer some rays of hope for this long time supporter?
If you were Ryles, what is your blueprint for the next few years to see an upswing in success and culture?

Yep. There will need to be some better coaching in the defense and identifying the leaders coming through in the squad.
I don't think it'll be a bad year. The core of the squad is still there, with 4 or 5 elite players which not many clubs have. Just about putting a good spine together and building around it with players with good attitudes. We sign a hooker and fullback, and Recycle some forwards all of a sudden we are back in the 8. Brown to fullback, Galvin to 5/8 and Brailey to hooker for me.
Just enlighten me about Galvin and Brailey? Are they existing in the squad?
I'm not so confident in your assessment of elite players. Perhaps you can see something I can't
. It's intriguing, and it might be media talk, about JR offloading a number of players from the squad. If that is the case, let's hope JR already has players in mine he'd like to include.
Moses, hopgood, brown and Lomax are all elite and in the top couple in their positions. That's who u build around. There'd be 4 or 5 other teams with 4 or more players of that calibre

I'd love to see Brown at fullback, Gutho to 5/8th next to Moses. We need a decent hooker signing and fix up our edge defense..
Also replace sivo on the left wing with a quality, meter gaining winger (To'o) lol..
This competition is pretty tight. YES, the top 4 are miles ahead but the 5-14 positions are interchangeable. You need to identify where you need to add to and try and get the best fix. Sometimes, they cant be fixed in year 1. But you throw your pathways net out a bit wider and you might just get that cluster of 4 mates that are coming through schoolboys and junior reps together. If you manage those 4 or 5 juniors well it can be club defining.
