I think the team is as balanced and strong across the park as we have seen since the 80s. But to win a comp I think you need to look at the team objectively and identify areas of weakness and areas that con be improved.
For me there's 1 major weakness and 1 area where the team can improve
The major weakness I think is with the right side defence particularly Waqa Blake. He's a great attacking player but a bit of work needs to be done with him to help him make the right defensive decisions
The other area I think we can improve is with our number 14. I'd like to see Jai replace Reed for the last 20min of the game. That's not a critisim of Reed he is a great young player and getting better all the time, in fact I think he provide as good a service from dummy half as any 9 in the comp but a little extra spark from dummy half at the back end of the game when the opposition is getting tired might be the difference between winnning and losing a tight game.

Definitely contenders who should be in the major semi to get into the GF at minimum.
This is a good team with a lot of improvement to come, well done to BA, credit where credits due.
Only the roosters are a better team atm imo.

If we have any chance later on, I agree, we need to firm up the right side defence. They arent showing confidence in each other and break ranks far too often. Waqa is singled out but the whole right side is fragile and needs a lot more work.

Storm are creaping up and still a threat.I think injury will make or break our season , we need to stay fit and other teams lose some.Soliola a suspected broken jaw would be a big loss for Raiders, but don't count them out yet either, if they can stay in the 8 they have Bateman to return and that could boost them back to good form.

I agree we could use a bit more running from dummy half. Bench was skinny tonight which may be an issue for us at the back end of the season.
The challenge now is going to be how to stay 'up' like the contenders always do throughout the entire season. I honestly thought we were flat tonight. BA will need to work out how to freshen the boys up throughout the season. 18 weeks straight plus finals is unprecedented.
We've definitely got issues on our right both in attack and defence. I feel when we go right we go far too laterally giving Fergo absolutely no room to work with. For the right side winger to be on a duck after 8 rounds is an issue. Something for BA to fix up.

I'll admit the Cows didn't put up a great deal of resistance, particularly in the 2nd half, but I thought our middle 3 were outstanding, they just monstered the Cows middles, JT13 included.
We were a bit flat when those guys went off up till half time, but no doubt BA gave them a bit of a spray and we were fine then until the game lost its edge.
Were you at the game or did you watch it at home ?
Watched at home. I didn't think we were horribly flat but our line speed and kick chase were a bit down on what we've been producing. And that's fine if you stick to the system which we did. Just a noticeable difference in intensity compared to previous weeks that's all. Managing player fatigue is going to be a major component of a successful season this year.
