Pre-emptive Strike

What a big day for the Eels. Huge. The conditions, weather wise and footy wise, are ripe for a great game. There's no excuses today people. If we win, it will be a very exciting day for all of us, with the opportunity to play next Friday night against the Titans. If we lose.... well, i think everyone will agree that we have ended up finishing the season on a lot better note than what most of us could have hoped for 15 weeks ago. What im looking for today is for Parramatta to have a go. To not be overawed by the situation, but hungry for victory.. and if we get beaten by a better team, i can handle that.No doubt if we lose, the usual turkeys will get on here stating how this player sucks and how we never had a chance, so i ask, if you feel so inclined to jump on after the game and post the usual rubbish... go share your negativity somewhere else! The last half of this year has been way above my expectation, and only puts us in a great position moving forward to the next few seasons.... however this season is not over by a long way. Mark my words, todays game will be our toughest this year... but we have the opportunity to show everyone that we deserve to be there. If the players believe it, i think we might be in for a great afternoon.Win or Lose... i'll be walking out of Kogarah wearing my Jersey with pride!

  • true mate.

i think if we win this game we will win the premiership. this will be harder than any other test i can think of.

    c'mon parra .-)
    • I Agree
  • Well said mate

I think 09 has been a great year for the Eels, our club has completely changed for the better both on and off the field.

I must admit heading into this season, I honestly thought we would be down near the bottom of the ladder, obviously half way through the year it looked as if my estimate was looking quite accurate. All i wanted for this year was the club to start re-building for 2010, re-building in terms of culture, staff and recruitment and any success we achieved this year would be a bonus. Well we have definetely had that bonus with us storming home to make the top 8 and we also can say we have the best player in the NRL on our books.

So no matter what the result is today, I for one will be very content with our season and will be looking foward with great anticipation to 2010.
  • great blog mate so pumped about this arvo
  • To come back from where we were 3 months ago is an awesome effort. Win or lose they've done us proud and we'll be even better for next year. Got a funny feeling that playing in the day will be an advantage for us and we could spring an upset!
