I don't see the hype with the tigers.Ā They had a couple good games but LB is right their over confidence and arrogance can be there downfall.Ā There defence is the main issue and Benji doesn't seem to be fixing their issues.Ā Ā
Compare tigers to the Eels, both won more games towards the end of the year but the stats show eels did it through a combination of attack and defense. Tigers improved their attack but their defense was still very poor.Ā When they win they still conceed over 20 points.Ā They had a few games at leichardt and the bulldogs game where they lifted, but Benji doesn't seem to be able to motivate the players on a regular basis.Ā They will continue to be around the bottom of the ladder until they get a new coach.

FMP, their philosophy is similar to 05', you score 30 we will score 31. After a while that will get tiresome. If Koroisau goes down, which could happen with age, they are stuffed. They should be in discussion for spoon as well as maybe top 8. They are an odd team, it's fascinating. They are the team i hate the most with their arrogance and the May brothers will run the joint and the locker room to the ground, Luai will say screw this and head to Perth perhaps and Marshall will wonder where it went wrong.Ā
But also, from reports, Marshall is one that is not open to help. He is very much it is his way only. Compared to Ryles who feeds on opinions from others to form his own. Ryles has final say but takes words from all his assistants and even outsiders like Eddie Jones.
Marshall's arrogance rubs off on the team. He got some nice wins off teams taking them easy but then they took teams easy thinking they are the real deal.
Media love them more than us as they are a great story, a team who have not made finals in 12 years, off 3 straight spoons with a club legend as coach.
LB, players and coaching staff often comment on how Ryles was always asking questions even as a player. Always curious to understand and know more. Seems that theme has carried through to his coaching. IĀ admire his non-opaque, down-to-earth personality that isn't without directness.Ā
Plus how he talks most of the time seems natural, not a lot of politician type speaking.
I mentioned this before but with the group 6 team i am affiliated with, a player there played Wollongong comp for Norths. He played two seasons; one with Kimmorley as coach the other with Ryles captain coach.
He hated the first year with Kimmorley nearly giving the game away. With Ryles he said he would run through a brick wall for him. Then he moved closer to home but loved Ryles with a passion and mentioned how he was a simple prescence of expectation. He was strict but wouldn't get you to do something he knew they wouldn't be able to do.
I've had the privilege of being shown a few team talks Ryles has given at training and some behind the scenes stuff. I meet him at the KT Medal and I'd run through a brick wall for him.Ā
It was great to have him be so upfront with fans and honest with us. He is so big on trust as well. Trusting that his players will get it right and will back them. We saw that all season with the young guys he kept picking even if they made mistakes.

Seems like him and Moses are on the exact same page to, Ā Moses is an extension of Ryles on the footy field and getting everyone organised into their sets. Love itĀ

I think the Dog coach should be sack any way they had the side to win the grand final but didn't make it

Nothing wrong with arrogance, its how you use it and then getting results.
Don't get the results then arrogance is useless.
Major point here is that Penrith are arrogant about their position, why should they not be?
One of my grandsons asked me who I think will win the comp..... I said I suspect it will be Penrith.....Why Pop?
Because every team playing them will be scared because they are Penrith, Penrith in turn will be scared of NOBODY!
Now that's ARROGANCE with a meaning, they back themselves!
