The 2014 NFL season is underway. Regular rounds finish on December 28th. Playoffs start in January with the Superbowl on Feb 1st 2015.
The next season starts September 2015.
So given this one would assume Hayne won't be playing NFL this season. Given his age and total lack of NFL experience will he get picked up by an NFL side and actually play top level NFL at some stage?
I don't think he'll make it. The earliest he could debut would be the 2015/16 season. He'll be 27 and a complete gridiron rookie. He'll be competing against younger, much more experienced athletes. Hayne will go from the rigours of weekly NRL where his skills are so well honed and instinctual to sitting on a sideline for 95% of a game that he's never played before in his life.
I wish him all the best but I honestly can't see him making it.

You would think that Hayne would have to have to play some college league football first.
It's going to be tough, but Hayne is a ridiculously talented, instinctual athlete.
He's too old for College football but I'm sure there is some second tier comp he could play. He'll need to star in it though to have any chance of being picked up. To us, Hayne is a superstar, to the NFL he's just another athlete in a long, long line of athletes trying to get a start. They won't show him any favours.
In Short - NO he will not play NFL unless it's on his Playstation.
Ha
well, he DID ADMIT in the press conference that his interest was peaked by PLAYING ON HIS PLAYSTATION!!!
WTF??!!??
Jeez .... I like the NRL game on the xbox .... does that mean I'll make a good player manager/coach or even a good player??!!
Jarryd has shown a lack of brain matter in this one.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE .... go sign IZZY now that we have a bit of wriggle in the salary cap ....
oh, I do hope that we are NOT paying Hayne for next year ..... PLEASE !!!!
