I've just read that The Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese has told the Rabbitohs to prepare themselves for Damien Cook to be available for the Souths v Roosters game on Friday as there are now plans to shorten the isolation period requirements in regard to Covid-19.
Albanese, a Rabbitohs supporter, is signalling a change from a 7 to a 5 day isolation period which would miraculously enable Cook to play in the crucial match.
Imagine being able to get that sort of service from connected supporters!

I know somebody who has covid atm, he did multiple tests along the way and has been positive for over 8 days, a 5 day isolation doesnt sound very smart.
Well it is the same as the 7 day isolation now Snake, as long as you show no symptoms you can leave on day 7 regardless of testing positive or not.
It's time to move on from the covid hysteria. Most people have had covid. Everybody at work and school are mixing with sick people. Damien cook should be able to play. Imagine not being able to play a contact sport because of having cold symptoms lol.
Under NRL protocol you would still have to test negative wouldn't you? If player is positive they are sent home so not to infect rest of team.
If Cook plays before 7days and is positive, half roosters and rabbits teams could get Covid. A club would risk it on grand final day but not for last game of the season.
If Parra win on Thursday, rabbits will play roosters again week 1 of finals. If we lose rabbits would prefer to lose and play us week 1. They would never throw a game but would they risk an underdone Cook knowing who they would play and what side of the finals draw they would be on.
My understanding is that you can test positive for covid, even after you have passed the contagious period. Some people test positive weeks or even months after, that's why when you get it the rule is you stay home for 7 days or until you have no symptoms. You don't have to test negative to be allowed back out into society.
I don't know what the NRL rules are exactly, but I'd guess they reflect the general health guidelines in some way.
