  • I don't understand the kick off rule. Can someone explain it

    • When you have a try scored against you, you get to decide whether you want to kick to the opposition or to receive from their kick on the restart after the try.

The intent is to stop endless momentum as you can choose whether you want to attack or defend after a try against you.

      • Captain this is an interesting one. Will teams forced to kick off after scoring start to kick short more often? From memory the short drop outs are close to 50/50 now.

        • It definitely opens the doors for more counter attack for teams who have that attacking prowess. It'll be interesting to see who uses it to their advantage, I could see the Broncos or the Dolphins using this well.

Balanced teams probably don't get much advantage of disadvantage. In theory it should lead to more closer games which is definitely what the NRL want.

  • 1 i really like,  - Teams can sometimes keep the ball for 15 minutes and kill the opposition with fatigue  In the NFL scoring teams have always kicked off, it makes more sense

    2. I like.  I think it will suit Parramatta having more depth than others, and it works with the concussion issue

    3. I like. Why should the opposition get a 7 tackle for a positive play from the attacking team?

4 is a like.  Don't like the stop start in kicking for touch.

  • The NRL are fast becoming the ALP of sport.

Introducing laws (rule changes) for the sake of it. The reason they change so often is because the stuffed it up in the first instance. Fuck.....leave the game as it was please, it's not broken.
