That's exactly the type of scenario that they want.

If we kick deep and they get to the 40, that would be on us. They shouldn't be getting near half way
I think you will see alot more short 10 kickoffs
That's an issue I didn't think about. Yeah what if a team is coming back with limited minutes and the opposition want the ball back just takes away the great finish.
1) don't hate or love it. As long as there's no delay waiting for coaches orders for kick or receive I'm not overly against it.
2) not the biggest fan. It'll see players play 18-19th man over several weeks and get no game time for nrl or cup.
3-agree- the rule was brought into the game after a tendency of kickers booting it dead on purpose to get the fullback out of the game. A knock on over the line shouldn't have such a harsh punishment.
4- don't like it. Teams will be pushing there luck from the 20 metres. There's already too much holding down/ wrestle in the game
The way you handle the 19th man issue, where players are not playing Cup as they might be needed for NRL and other players miss out preparing for NRL, is just a extending to 2 players that could be used in case of HIA etc. So instead of saying Joash is 18th man and that's it, we could also name Samrani who can play Centre and back-row. Then make it a little bit easier to get a player in. Yes can be exploited but still better. Maybe 1 HIA or if they come on, they cannot be replaced or the player they replace cannot come back in.
Its more strategic but coaches name their 17 either with strategy in mind. Most teams don't really utilize their 17th player anyway so why not name a winger? Or just have 18th man activated every game but can only use 4 subs.
I think the 6 player bench will only further the devide of the haves and have nots of the competition. The likes of the Roosters, Broncos, Dogs ect will continue to attaract the major talent and give them a big leg up when in years to come.
Are these official or just potential changes, it seems every year we are playing a new game.
