Post mortem

1. Without Tepai and Vave, and with only two forwards on the bench we got owned. We had no space in attack. Cowboys had plenty of room all night to attack and were on the front foot in defence to jolt the ball free and snuff out any attack. Halves had nothing to work with.2. Smith is not a full back. He played brilliant in previous games but we pushed our luck too far. Tripple A also is not a winger. Both get found out in defence, positioning and under the highball. Accident waiting to happen.Watching the game was like watching someone bring a knife to a gunfight

  • Yes, we did lack size in the middle and a fit Moeroa and Vave would have been nice.  So would have been Gutherson and French for that extra attack.

But, at the end of the day we lost because our completions were very poor and when you don't complete your sets in big games like September footy it hurts on the point score.  If we dropped the same amount of ball against the Storm last week or the Roosters they would have scored several more tries.

A wise man once said, "Possession is King!" :)

    • With Tepai out, we lost a hard running edge forward who links up well with Moses. Also we lose Edwards off the bench and we really needed that spark at 20mins which we didn't get. Also losing Alvaro one of our more aggressive forwards early in the game really nullified Pritchard position off the bench.
  • BA should've gone in with the same 4 forward rotation from previous weeks.
The inclusion of Kaysa did it for me - so Farking dumb I still can't believe it.
Either King was fit or not. You don't play a monster pack with two hookers - absolutely insane.
    • The big forwards would have struggled even more in defence due to the amount of ball we spilled.

  • When you are dominated and tired you often have a high error rate
  • I left out starting with Mannah and Alvaro. That is never a good idea. Either with Vave is good. But can't see us winning many games with that starting pair
  • I didn't get the bench selections at all. I thought we could have done with Vave.
We lose Semi but you can add The Guth to that side, and Bev French, and a full off season driving the team for Moses, and Tep, probably that monster winger from NYC as well, and Evans from the Roosters . . . probably a couple of other promising signings as well.

Hmmmmm - we could have a pretty good side.
Can't wait for 2018 to kick off :)

Really happy with the free towel, or wank rag or whatever it is, that I got at the ground as well :))

    • Great! Another wank rag that Al Hunts poor Nan has to put through the wash!

  • All correct.  At the end of the day possession wins games and we didn't hold onto the ball enough.  Its a very still game, more ball you have greater chance of scoring and less defence you have to do.  Less defence you do more energy you have to score points.

  • Stop over analysing - read my blog. Get over it people we weren't ready
