Possible Halves Combination for 2011

These are the possible halves combination for 2011 that i think might be used :

1. Murray and Mortimer
Matt Keating and Anthony Mitchell are our hookers
2. Murray and Humble

3. Humble and Mortimer

4.Mortimer and Mcguire

5. Murray and Mcguire

6. Humble and Mcguire

Maybe even Reni Maitua can fit in as a utility for 5/8 just like Mateo did.

Im not considering Robson, as he might be going to ESL, but he could be used.

Maybe having Robson at halfback and getting a decent 5/8

I dunno, it's just a possibility
What do you guys reckon the halves will be like?

  • I would personally prefer Humble/Murray or Hayne and Murray.
Regardless of the combination that is chosen though, I'm not fussed provided we see good performances out of them all.
  • i'll prefer humble/murray
  • Stephen Kearney had a good relationship with Cooper Cronk and Matt Orford, so expect something special to happen soon :)
  • He barely played a game for them , he was out for the majority of the year with injury, and im pretty sure in the few games he did play he didnt set the world on fire
  • hayne1
    morts 6
    orford 7
    Mcguire 9
    mitchell 14
    • out of all the options, this is by far our best one
we have to have EXPERIENCE in the halves
  • i get the feeling slippery that he is annoying you?
  • Murray "may" be a gun in whatever grade he has played in but completely untried in 1st grade - what happens if he turns out to be another MORTS?

Have we actually signed McGuire yet?
I mean has anyone seen a contract or attended an official announcement.
We haven't heard one peep from McGuire himself - only a newspaer quote from his dad

ATM we ONLY have limited REAL options.
Morts / Robbo / Humble (who looks like being forced to play FB for Wenty) / Murray (junior) and a possible Maitua who will MISS the first half of the season 2011.

WELL LOOK AT THAT - SURPRISE - SURPRISE.
Our halves options going into 2011 are Morts and Robbo.
Now theres forward thinking by the club.
  • That would be 2006. Shane Perry with the Broncos... Pretty recent right?
  • because we never give them a go and they leave.

"Randy,  An interesting one.
I suppose coaches trust certain players or believe they're the best fit for the team, even if club form or a high minute count aren't there.
I'd choose you for x-factor even if you only had 5 minutes of form."

"Hoe, I dislike the idea that a player can be selected for Aust with only 480 club minutes on show...and not all of them good. How can he have form without playing?
Perhaps a rule that said 10 nrl games to be eligible for Aust would help everyone"

Like Ricky Stuart, Ryles seems happy to show the door to a player not buying in.
