Not so much a positive but a couple of things we learnt.
1. I don't think Rein is an option for the 14 jersey. He either starts if Reed is out, or he's in Reggie's.
2. Too play as badly as we did but still nearly pulled it off in the end. In the end we've lost 2 games so far by 3 points and both in the last minute.
3. BA definitely doesn't have the team "up" for the start of the season. A lot complaining we fall flat towards the end of the season after starting hot. We'll see at the back end of the home and away if we are tapering properly.
4. We are a fickle bunch of supporters. Many have said over the years they only care how we play at finals time, not the regular season. This obviously isn't true with the reactions after every loss.
Rein did have the shocking drop ball, but did he do much else wrong? Mahoney is playing great in patches but seems to be missing a few tackles. I'm not sure Mahoney can play the full 80 at the moment.
Other than the inexcusable dropped ball he was ok . His service was good in the short time he got and the dart from dummy half where he did have the ball knocked out was good . He saw it was on and went . Unfortunately like last game the opposition identified something about his carry which he will obviously need to work on . Reed had the otjer 90% of the game to do something . Reed was far from error free .

Forget rein had his time . Watched Brendan hands closely yesterday very classy has speed engages markers and can play in the half as well .
Unless he can provide some spark while on I think he's better off in reggies. He's basically a Reed 2.0 in what he does. I prefer a 14 used a dummy half like PJ Marsh used to play. Quick out of the blocks and back peddling the markers. I didn't say rein was big average, rather the 14 could be utilised better rather than a dedicated dummy half. Has Perham played in the halves as a junior? Seems to have played a few backline positions, so with a bit of dedicated training could become an option at dummy half?
Positives...hmmm, we have only lost 2 games, beaten by a team above us and 1 below. In total we lost both games, by 2 points or less and in the last minutes. Certainly not our best performance yesterday, but not our worst. Certainly not time to get the razor blades out, early days
Losing to the Tigers is embarassing, but we've been seconds away from winning both our losses. Once we get back into the groove of grinding teams out of games we'll be okay.
Also, injuries can't be ignored. So many players out of position and it was exploited easily.

Sorry but there were absolutely no positives from yesterday's result.

1: D Brown has a great left step & is backing himself, really rising to his potential.
2: simonson has improved significantly after his first few ordinary games
3: Penisini showed he is good centre and will never be selected on the wing again
4: MM continues to run and threaten the defence
5: Marata is back from injury & showed how valuable he is
6: We have that out of our system and the players attitude will be back on track against Newcastle ( ok that is more a hope than s positive)

3. BA is still the coach.
4. JA will get picked next week.
5. We play Newcastle in Newcastle
6. We are still in the top 4 but on the verge of dropping like a lead balloon.
