Position after round 14

Assuming Roosters beat the Knights, regardless whether Eels win or lose they most probably won't move on the table. To move up a position they would have to beat the Dogs by 36 points...highly unlikely. They would have to lose by 22+ to fall below the Tigers & possibly Storm or Titans.

  • They may not move up or down the ladder this round, but it's as valuable a 2 points as any this year.

The result against the Dogs will most likely affect our position the following week, and the following week and so on till the end of 26 rounds.

  • We are still only 2 points off the top & I fully expect our young forwards to answer the challenge & our backs will clean up against the Dogs. & I expect that we will also towel up the Storm, down there next week without their big 3. The gods could not have have aligned for us better to set up a real chance at a top 4. Nesxt 2 games are crucial. Both away & both against seriously weakened teams by origin. BA will ensure the ANZ, no Hayne hoodoo is laid to rest. - In BA I trust.

  • Just quietly...
Given how close the comp is...

We are only 4 points away from history repeating.

    Jusy sayin.
  • we wont beat them at all little by winning by 36 but getting beat by 22+ will there a good change that happening

    • Geez Paul, you need to put a smile on your dial! All week you've been going "No Hayne, no gain", "we get beat" and "can't win away". Stop being so negative. It takes more energy to frown than it takes to smile. Put on a happy face! :) Go Parra!
  • They have crap backs & their halves pale into insignificance against ours. So all the pundits are basing the bull wog favouritism on their forward pack. So let's look at the two.

Kasiano vs Mannah. Yes Kas is a big bopper but Tim has really come on this year. Ennis vs De Gois (Goisy). I expect Ennis to try to do too much & be shut down by the Eels. James Graham vs Junior. Junior hands down. almost MOM in his first 2 starting games. Kenny vs Eastwood. Who?. Eastwood was OK 2 years ago, & Kenny should be back to his early season form, after a couple of runs from a spell. Maú vs Williams. Nuff said!!. We know Williams is a big cat & Manu will go all day.  Sef vs Finucane? - again..who?? - Bench: Gower, Mossop, Terepo & Pauli vs Paddy, Browne, Klemmer & Corey Thompson. Seriously, how are Parra not the favourites?? - The Dogs won 3 games in a row by 1 point. They have been thrashed the last 2 weeks by quality teams. & this year, we are a quality team!!

Wake from your hibernation Eels fans & get excited again. Because this team, under this new coaching set-up is taking me back to the Gibson days. Again, BA is king!!

  • Seriously we win the bench as we have four good players to two as klemmer and brown are good players. Sefa verse Finucane, well dogs get that one. M'au verse Williams, we win as M'au is a legend. Kenny verse Eastward, draw as Eastward is still a good player. Junior verse Graham we win as I don't rate Graham (might be bias to parra). Manah verse Kasiano, we win as Manah is better defencively so just better. Forwards we win as long as they stand up and have a gc. Back will be a lot closer as we loose a lot with out Hayne and Hoppa. Over all we should just win though our away games are woeful so anything can happen.

    • Hi Shane, I hope u r right as we r due for an away win. The dogs will miss their halves so on balance, if our forwards step up, we should be in with a good chance to win this one.

"I think the disappointing part for Pensini was the poor defence last week against Melbourne. Yes everyone was shit. But he missed a one on one tackle for Leo to score. He also got burned in the frist half by Leo but Iongi saved the day."
