I hate being negtive so I apologise for the first part of the heading.
I was looking to tear a new one last night but this morning I am a little more contrite.
The second part of the heading is relatively true, face it we did better than most thought we would. Just didn't expect us to win it and then throw the fcuking thing out the window!
Now most people on here like to find blame and before I get there I would say that Gutherson did the right thing kicking for goal at the end. Hindsight now says it was a bastard of a decision but it always easier after the event.....which I add was taken from the coaches box.
Now for the blame, 2 players who I hate to criticise were very disappointing to me, specifically Dyllan Brown and RCG. I just didn't see that extra effort from those two and the leadership they had to offer BUT DIDN"T at the end when it was required.
No point in trying to explain that but it tells me those 2 have had enough for the time being. Everone can speculate but I was just very disappointed that their performance at the end did not measure up. The technical ability of the players to tackle in the circumstances lost us the game. Muttman summed it up well in his post in the game day blog.i.e. being picked off like amateurs.
PLease tell these blokes when the want or need to make one on one tackles they need to approach with some level of balance in stopping the player, rather than charging in and trying to put him down with a rushed and unbalanced approach.
Penrith's attack at the end was nothing special other than realising we were a mess, that spreading it anywhere wide was going to expose us, one on one.
Our defence in that period of time was an absolute disgrace for a team that call's itself professional, regardless of the injuries we may have going in.
Not good enough coaches and players but not that difficult to fix now that Ryles has witnessed two weeks in a row our poor technique.

Interesting I'm listening to Sen radio and Justin Horo highlighted RCG and DB performing well over the last 3 weeks
Well Mick, what did you think of the last 10 minutes, that is relevant to the context not the last 3 weeks.
DB & RCG have been very good all year, I am specifically talking about the period where we lost it, last night.
Are you capable of original thought Mick? The other thing is if you want to quote me use inverted commas, as it makes no sense as to what you are referring to "BUT DIDN"T at the end when it was required"
More work in the cave with your mentor.
You are more clueless than a first thought.. are you seriously pointing the finger at DB and RCG for what transpired in last 10 minutes? Fark me what game are you watching??
the To'o try was the result of Asi getting drawn in and taking the wrong man instead of holding his nerve - he bites and that drags in Blaze space opens up and the rest is history
Penisini makes a meal of Cleary kick error try - you write a lot of nothing and don't offer any real insight, be disappointed all you want.. defensively this team have been a rabble for years, misreads on the edge are common feature.
This blog adds never little to the discussion but that's to be expected.
regarding DB and the read on Mav geyer, in the lead up to which try?
Yep and then that leads to Russell jamming in
Dylan Brown and RCG were both excellent. Not sure why the focus on them. At the ground Dylan Browns defence was astonishingly good at times.
We lost because the panthers knew to target talagi's side when it counted.
our forward pack was immense. Wiremu Grieg hits like a freight train.
You maty be right about the "Talagi Target" Michael but I am making reference to specifically the last 10 minutes where I thought Dyllan and Reg did not show the leadership that I would have expected. Leadership they have both shown all through this difficult season.
Yeah back pedaling..
I can't see how going for two points to level up was the correct decision. If we did level up it would of just extended the pain as we still would of lost to The Chin kicking a feild goal. Just throw everything at them down there on there line FFS. Who actually thought Gutho would kick that anyway. Stupidist football team going around.
I have not seen any criticism of the decision (goal kick) outside of this site Strange Eel but I guess you chose your own Avatar's name!
"Who actually thought Gutho would kick that anyway"
You do realise he kicked 2 from the sideline during the match don't you, or is that a bit "Strange" to you.
