I can see a earlly release for poore is he doesnt pick up his shithouse act, Tim mannah absolutely out performed poore. Justin poore will be far far from playing origon this year infact with this shithouse perfomance the only thing that is keeping him from playing reserve grade is that we have shit all depth oh well were fucked peace out.
Lay off. Poore was bought at a time that the team was playing crap and we couldn't get anyone interested in playing for the Eels. Also he was the perfect fit at the time because the forwards in particular were small and lacked grunt..... the decision to pay overs for him is not a good one in hindsight, but what can you do.... we'll get our 250K worth of value...whihc is what he is really worth.
Sooner or latyer Poore will come good.... as will most others.... Hindy too has been poor IMO.... in attack especially.
I think last night was the perfect opportunity to shift Cayless to second row and start Feleti off the bench.
I think we need to start with Poore and Fuifui. Poore works well, alongside another big bopper like he did with Weyman. If Fuifui hits the line and bends it pack, then Poore with the second hitup will be infinitely more effective. You have two types of props - one he drags the line back and the second who makes metres off the back of that.
Put Fuifui and Poore as your starting props and Cayless into the second row. Cayless then becomes your third hit-up and Hindy doesn't have to make any early match hit-ups and you can reserve his petrol for defence.
Mateo comes on as the first interchange for Moimoi and Cayless bobs back up into prop for a stint. And then you bring interchange both Poore and Cayless for Mannah and Pele/Allgood. You only need to get 10 minutes out of Allgood or Pele and then you bring Fuifui back on with 8 minutes to go or so.
Great plan Phil. We can only work with what we have and plans like this are what will get us forward. Yes you can drop a player like many people want but seriously you need to look at who will come into the team and what they would add. Other than some speed to help Keating in the latter stages, like mitchal, I can't see any worthy players coming through. We need answers in terms of game plan and not in just dropping players willy nilly.
Sorry, Phil, but as you know I've never rated Cayless. Dropping him back to the second row would probably help him. I agree with that. But Captain Inspirational is a very poor performer in lots of games and the opposition knows it. We didn't win games last year because of our steamrolling forward play; it was our second phase play that got us home.
Cayless tries hard, real hard, but while he's captaining the side we'll never win a Grand Final. I hope he proves me wrong. In the two GFs he'd led us in he's been hopeless. I can't wait till he's gone. He should have bailed this year.
Give Poore more time, how many times last night did he recieve a hospital pass and got tackled just as he caught it, mk had a mixed game, at times his delivery out of dummy half is quick n effective n then the next tackle is the total opposite, but im not going to bag mk for the loss. Just going to say where was our number 7 all game, we had no set plays, nothing in attack, hayne should be running off our number 7, not hayne playing as our number 7 in attack. How can any of us expect to win the comp without a decent halfback. Our team needs a half who will call the shots n lead them around the park and unfortunately robson will never be able to do that. KK is busy in attack and tries hard, id leave him at 6 and give mortimer a run at 7 now early in the season before its too late. Yeah all of you are gonna tell me ohhhhh but robson is so good in defence!! WHO CARESSSS if he gives us nothing in attack his defence is worthless...it was such a disgraceful game to watch, their like a bunch of chickens running around with their heads chopped off.
