Billionaire Sydney Roosters chairman Nick Politis has out at a "petty" move from Sydney FC that's kicked off a cross-code war between the NRL club and the A-League football franchise.

Sydney FC officials caused uproar after covering up a Roosters logo at Allianz Stadium, before their first A-League match at the recently completed stadium in

  • To be fair , it does seem  petty the way the soccer clubs carry on considering 5 minutes ago these soccer players mostly would've been playing down the back of some school somewhere if it wasn't for the Rugby League clubs and the grounds that have been built to accomadate them over the years .  It's a pretty weird  flex from them.

    • Agree Wiz. Uncle Nick certainly raises a very valid point

    • But, but, but commbank stadium was built for the wanderers and their 17 fans.

      • That's correct mack.  Let's face it Gould tried to get the wanderers to play out of penrith because he knew it would leverage the government into building panthers stadium first.

Mack also, soccer is now losing ground by not having it on fox and playing one or two games a week on free to air. If this continues the A league will revert back to what it was previously and you'll have Marconi vs Sydney Olympic with zero coverage

        • That's because the soccer can't support having it on both.  Put it on FOX and there will only be Mack and Super letting off their flares and trashing the stadium . The other 12 wogs will be at home in their Fila tracksuits watching with their glass of Grappa.

      • As I said , Mack,  up until recent times the round ball players would've been playing in council parks or the 200 wooden seats wog leagues clubs out the back of the local fruit shops  if there were no Rugby League stadiums. Do you think they'd have built big stadiums for the soccer teams if there were no rugby league teams ? Cause they sure as fuck built stadiums for Rugby League teams without soccer.

Can just see Sydney vs Sydney in the carpark of Fred's fruit world.

          • Mack soccer in it's unofficial form was around when the fucking Pommies arrived here , and yet it took until the 1900s for us to realise theres a game we actually like to play here in Rugby League and some other poofy thing we had to make up ourselves down the southern end. The only reason soccer exists in Australia is because we've imported enough wogs for it to finally be a thing. Fuck, even you old long time Aussie Wogs couldn't get it to work until you got backup from all the more recently imported sand wogs. We needed a game that they were able to play too when they got here and realised that they had ooodles of time when they're not at war with other families over goats and shit.

Used to be a Fred's fruit out near Marconi somewhere amongst that rabble of bricks and concrete lions.

              • I remember the old bugger used to think he was pretty famous every year when he went to the auctions for the first mango or pineapple or some random fucking bitta fruit of the season and pay 10's of thousands of dollars for a 20c item .  He thought he was a heaps mad cunt flexing over all the other old blokes with the creative genius ro simply put their own name and in front of "fruit world" to come up with their business trading name . "Yay I've got the first Mango , you bloke are left to fight over the other billion tonnes "

          • Lol don't be silly. Soccer would never be the the dominant sport even without league. Stadiums are made to make money. No politicians would build a stadium because of union or soccer in this country. League, cricket and Afl is all that matters.

  •

This is why Soccer will never be big in Aus. hahaahahahaha
