Never really cared that much about the Dally M Award but if a player can miss half the season and win it that's kind of a slap in the face of guys who play most of the season lol. Congrats to KP but system is flawed lol.

Yep Dally M award is officially dead...
Jarryd Hayne did the same in 2009. I have no real issue with it, but I see what you mean.
Yeah SJ definitely the most consistent player this season. Dally M seems to go to best player on a horrible team.
8 of the 43 winners have not won the comp that year. I mean that is a damning stat. If i was a coach i wouldn't want a player of mine winning it due to that alone lol.
The thing is though, in a strong team the Dally M points get split up between many players. In a team that isn't full of superstars, you get only a couple of players pulling in the votes when the team wins. That's the way the award has been set up. That's fine, but it isn't representative of the best, most consistent player in the NRL.
There is not a real way of doing it though, Ponga deserved the points he received in those 8 games.
If you do a voting system that is even more flawed.
Played 20 games. As mentioned, he did exactly what Hayne did .
nothing can compare what Hayne has done in 09, the Knights aint even in the GF
Daly Ms finished when the season finishes. GF has zero to do with it.
Hayne did the same.
Barbara too
If a team is on a run like the knights did usually it ends in awards
