Ponga and Adam Doueihi

There have been recent articles with some contract dramas for these two players...

fox reports that Ponga has not been paid one of his TPA's and is exploring options.

Tigers have only given Adam Doueihi a lowball offer of 150k for next year - he can play any position in the backline 1-7.

would you take any of these guys at parra? I would love either them Adam can be gotten for cheap he needs security after all the injuries if we gave him 2 years at 200k or 250 would be a bargain if he stays fit.

Ponga is in the top 5 players in the game and we could try to move gutho on to secure his services. this would make our backline elite.

  • No to pongs, too expensive.

Doueihi would be a very handy pick up if you could get him at what should be a good price considering his injury history,  can play anywhere in the backline probably even lock.

    • Jees I hope we don't go after Douie,  I thought our backline was already slower than a wet week

  • Ponga is a half to 3/4 season player and made of glass. Not worth the high $$$

  • I'd really like Doueihi to join us. Be great if he wanted to have a go in second row esp. but he would make a great ready made centre/ halves back up and it's definitely something we lack. Wests only offered $150K haha. I'm sure he'll get lots of offers above that, but hope parra have a go.

Gawd Ponga is on a fortune definitely a big no and besides we'd never be able to financially compete any case.

now he is owed a six!! figure sum for a few years of tpas!! Wow no wonder we can't compete on the market esp when we were a big fat no to tpas.

also on the side reading the fox article on pongs subject, as mentioned manly were treated very luckily in their massive  tpa breaches didn't hear much about this at the time compared to our ' sporting news to stop the nation' event

    • Yeah re manly, I didn't remember that either. I feel like it didn't make the news or was downplayed. Interesting..

  • Ponga only just makes the top 5 fullbacks abd he's in nearly 1.5 million. I would only pay half that for him.

Adam on the other hand would be a great buy for that price.

    • In no particular order - Tedesco, Walsh, Manu, Paps, Edwards, Gutho (maybe biased). Ponga doesn't make my top 5. I may be being harsh but as far as I'm concerned he's on par with Mitchell and the Hammer.

      • You're right, I also had hammer and turbo ahead of him so he'd just be maki by my top 10

        • I completely forgot about Turbo. Probably because he's always bloody injured.

  • No to both.

Adam has worse knees than Gutho and Ponga would be way too expensive.
