PNRL Board Nominations

Last night, Wednesday 16 November 2016, the Parramatta Leagues Club Members
received a letter from Max Donnelly, Parramatta Leagues Club Administrator and
Chairman, Parramatta Eels National Rugby League Club around the PNRL Board No
minations.

Read the letter below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Members,

Last month I wrote to you regarding proposed governance arrangements for the Parramatta National Rugby League Club Limited (PNRL) and I would like to provide an update to that process with the intention of progressing PNRL towards the nominations of new directors.

SUCCESSFUL CONSULTATION PERIOD FOR MEMBERS

I am pleased to report that I received a large amount of positive feedback from members and supporters regarding the changes that were proposed. It was clear that members and supporters of PNRL want to see change and reform that will ensure we have long-term stability at Board level.

Approximately 65 per cent of all written feedback during the consultation period was supportive with an additional 14 per cent feedback primarily focused on asking questions or providing suggestions. This meant that only 21 per cent of all submissions were against parts of the proposed changes.

A pleasing part of the process was that the vast majority of feedback that opposed the changes did so in a respectful and constructive manner. This is an important and positive aspect to the process and I commend all members who submitted feedback in this fashion.

I have taken on board a number of members’ suggestions and made some changes to the PNRL governance proposal. In addition I will use other relevant member feedback for the Parramatta Leagues Club Limited constitution reform process that will begin next year.

The new amended document is available on our website or upon request at the Leagues Club.

NOMINATION PROCESS FOR DIRECTORS OF PNRL

Following the proposed governance changes, the PNRL would now like to call for nominations for the five external PNRL directors. The nomination period is now open with submissions due by 10:00am  Monday 5th December 2016.

The process of appointing the five external directors is as follows: -

1. A candidate for nomination must complete an External Director Candidate Nomination Form . These are available to download or complete on the Parramatta Eels website at www.parraeels.com.au. Candidates who have initial questions or wish to have a nomination form sent to them can contact Joshua Drayton, PNRL Head of Communications and Brand on (02) 8843 0325.

Any potential candidate should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before submitting a nomination form.

2. Candidates should then send a completed  External Director Candidate Nomination Form by 10:00am 5th December 2016  to one of the following addresses: -

Email:            boardnomination@parraeels.com.au

Fax:                (02) 8833-0781

Mail:               Company Secretary

                        Parramatta National Rugby League Club

                        PO Box 2666

                        North Parramatta   NSW   1750

3. I will then review all the applications and create a shortlist of candidates. It’s anticipated that there will be an interview process with the candidates on the shortlist before final recommendations are announced.

Obviously not every candidate will be successful, however, we appreciate the time and effort that each candidate takes to participate in the process.

PNRL UPDATE

Our football Club continues to make good progress both on and off the field since my last correspondence. Our new CEO, Bernie Gurr, has joined the Club and is already providing a strong contribution across all areas of the business. The football department continues to strengthen our 2017 squad through some more quality signings with the bulk of our team returning to pre-season training well prepared for the 2017 season.

Eels memberships’ continue to sell strongly and I encourage you all to renew or purchase a package for 2017 by visiting www.parraeels.com.au/membership or contacting the Eels membership department on 1300 258 346.

I would like to conclude by again thanking members for their support and for making the reform process an important and positive period in our Club’s history.

I look forward to hearing from potential candidates over the coming weeks.

Yours sincerely

Max Donnelly
