Plot twist Re Jnr Paulo

I keep hearing how awesome Kelepi is going. I have also noticed him training next to Paulo in plenty of photos.

Now I am no Kelepi fan boy but do you think that BA could be planning to groom Kelepi into a hard running explosive middle forward? Maybe that's been his calling all along?

He'd be much cheaper and I am glad we are letting Paulo go if its stupid money being offered. The more I look at Kelepi the more he may be able to fill that 30-40 minutes of explosive attack and defence. Lord knows Paulo gets gassed out pretty quick.

Thoughts? Sixties, where is Kelepi training? Could I be onto something?

  • There not in the same class. Kelepi is a Hilux. Jr is a mac truck
  • Steve I was there the other day on Monday, Sixties has seen them train v often. I saw Kelepi on the edge but no doubt he could play in the middle. He looks v keen and seems to be enjoying it albeit I saw one 2 hr session but it was in the heat. Sixties will know more. I was impressed with the entire set up of training, and even the guys with niggles were all working their backsides off. I too don't wish to lose Jr Paulo, but parra won't pay him overs. It's simple and BA seems to be abiding by this. Hasson is also a smokey too as a prop. Álvaro is young and hopefully comes on in a year or so.
    • How is it overs if hes worth every cent. Parra are going cheap in this instance re Jr
    • To match canberra offer we would have to offer 100k-200k more
  • He's a little shorter and 10-15 kilos lighter which is alot really but its not always the stats which matter its how you use that size, running style and speed etc which makes em harder to tackle and throw in an offload and that's why Paulo is a weapon.in saying that though we do have a lot of second rowers so apart from cheap depth there may be some other reason for bringing him home considering we are apparently losing both jnr and Pauli.

  • It wouldn't be a foreign idea, as Kelepi played a fair bit of prop in NYC & did pretty well.
He was essentially used as a battering ram at that time.

  • If he was worth every cent, better clubs than Canberra would be matching it.

  • What are they apparently offering for Jnr?

  • We have Wicks, Mannah, Alvaro, Junior and others this year so best just to see how things pan out.

My mail, and it's pretty sound,  is that Junior is being hotly pursued but hasn't agreed to anything yet, and is happy at Parra. Plenty of water to flow under the bridge yet. I'm personally hoping he has a huge start to the season - he will be happy, the club will be happy, and everything will fall into place.

If a player is playing well and wants to stay, and the club genuinely wants to keep him, things have a habit of falling into place.
