Playing With Expectations

Reflecting on our recent tilts in this comp, seems when we have a "big year" we have great problems backing it up when expectations are raised.

Last year, it seemed that we played our best footy when we were written off and had nothing to lose.

Some people can perform under the weight of expectation, we can see them in all sorts of sports.

other people can't do it when it's expected of them, for some reason it imobilises them, nothing has changed to them physically, but mentally they "freeze"

I'm concerned that "lightening won't strike twice" and that we won't win 10 in a row to make an impression this year like we did last year.

For me, we have the physical talent, but do we have the mental talent?

If anyone knows an excellent shrink, can they call the football club on 02 9680 HELP.

EMBO.

  • This team is very much different to the one that has struggled with expectation in the past.... but..... reault is the same..... DA said openely that they're a nervous football team.

Lightning won't strike twice so I hope too we don't dig a whole as bis as last years.
