PLAYING FOR NO POINTS - Was never going to happen

Like ever body else I feel for Nathan Peats it’s a  terrible outcome for him and his family, but felt it was the right call from BA and will support him and the club 100%.

You have to take emotion out of big decisions and if everybody was to stand back, put their feelings aside and see it for what it is, I think everybody would agree it was the decision that had to be made.

This keeping the team together and play for no points I’m sorry to say was a pipe dream it was never going to happen, the NRL has measures in place to ensure Parramatta was to get cap compliant by June 3rd when the final decision on the breach notice comes down. So people would we rather let BA make the decision or the NRL I think we all know the answer to that one.

NRL TO FORCE EELS' HAND IN CAP SAGA

However the Eels also have another deadline - on June 3 - to respond to the original breach notices handed down by the governing body for alleged salary cap rorts last week.

And if they aren't cap compliant by then, the NRL could look at offloading players for them.

"They can play until the final determination is made in early June. That's when we can make some steps," an NRL spokesperson told AAP.

That could include forcing Eels players to move on, however league central is confident it won't get to that.

  • But it's Peats... I wonder how the team feels.

  •  You are only saying this after the train has left the station. The other players told Peats they would back him in whatever decision he made. If he stayed we would have played for no points.

  • I'm not saying the players wouldn't be filthy...they would be. But what would of happened in a few weeks if he didn't leave....it would of been somebody else the NRL was gonna make it happen then the  merry go round starts again. It was a tough decision and I commend Peatsy for doing it!

  • this is all for nothing, when the final decision comes down in june we will all find out that zilch points and the spoon is the only thing on turdbergs mind.

    • Then we'll be in the exact same spot so what's the big deal?
    • Exactly, I don't trust t.G. if the Eels
      believe that no good person?
Make T.G. write it down on paper,
As I would ask for his hand
      written letter? With his signature
and have it rubber stamped to!
If T.G. refuses to do so?
I would get Peat's back from
      where he was wrongly
sacrificed, then Brad would know exactly what is to be done.
      Especially having that extra bit
of money and hopefully even J.Paulo to back flip as then he wouldn't
      need to buy other
player. Also the Salary cap will be going up. I would make the rival clubs
pay! I would love for that to happen
      so very much,

I know that is why R. Stuart is
      holding his players back.
Not because they are not good
enough to win? No he must
or he will be busted! How many
      times have the raiders dropped
the ball past the try line? Heaps
of times with out any tackle was
Even attempted, surely you all had
seen that! If he won as many
games he would be caught big time.
There are another team tigers with the Tigers. I am so proud of the Eels
      Supporter since age of 4.
      Parramum.... Thanx!

"Damn it HKF, I was gonna ask where did Didly Squat come from to look them up.
Next you'll say Hock isn't coming."

"I am not too disheartened by that. If we got him then great but he is 29, having a few injuries and though a really good Winger he is an average Centre. I would rather Murray Taulagi."

"Spot on, other clubs are starting to announce signings but we have signed didly squat,  no didly is not a winger."
