Players Worth Looking At

The following players are off contract at their respective clubs and would be worthwhile looking at.

George Jennings - centre at Penrith. I thought both he and Robert had signed with Souths but apparently not. Quick centre, not sure of his defence, but has to be better value than our current replacement centre, Manu Ma'u.

Susia Matagi - prop at Penrith. Listed at 107kg a handy player with plenty of aggression. As Penrith still buying forwards for next year (do they have a cap?) worth a look and would not be expensive imo.

Zane Musgrove - prop at Souths. Listed at 109kg have only seen this young player once but was impressed with him.

Nelson Asofa-Solomona - prop at Storm. Listed at 115kg this giant of a man looks much heavier. Only remember seeing him in the Thursday match against Broncos. Was impressive making metres and has a good offload. Probably the pick of the props listed here.

  • rumour I read elsewhere is George Jennings all but sealed for 2017 to eels.

  • Nelson Asofa-Solomona . 200cm giant & only 20yo

Message to the coaching staff : sign him up on good $$$

    • Agree Chief he's got great potential. Could end up becoming anything. Only 20 ? I thought he was 28. I don't think the Storm would let him go easily, though. He looks like Tarzan & plays like Tarzan.
    • Everyone's going to have a crack at him. The team that lands may have to fork out some cash.

  • One of the Jenning Penrith players signed with Souths. I think we need another outside back, I hear Sio wants to come back to Oz. And I thought we could have done with s zippy hooker, but De Gois has signed for two years and we have Pritchard. I'm hoping the young Pritchard will come good this year.
  • Nelson would be a tremendous signing, but I vaguely remember he accepted an extension to his Melbourne Contract.  If he didn't stay in Melbourne he would go back to NZ as the All Blacks wanted him to come home.  Nelson was the best up and coming Junior All Black and is highly regarded by NZ Rugby.  It is my understanding why Mclean was going to leave was because they were given Mclean's money to Nelson.  I'd select Nelson to play Test footy this year if I was SK.

  • Is that right Penrith still buying  will they don't have a cap to then the only club has a cap is us because south and cowboys bulldogs broncos warriors  titans dont

"Semi would have broken the try scoring record if he'd stayed with us. He had 82 tries by the age of 25. And he only got half a season with Mitch. Sivo finished with 104 tries after debuting after 23. Could you imagine how many more tries Semi would…"
