Player Rating vs Penrith Panthers

Hello..................Player ratings are as follows:#19 Justin Hunt - Unfortunately Hunt was targeted all night by the Panthers attack, was moved from fullback to wing to escape the traffic but it just kept coming. I think he tried hard but just wasn't quite up to the standard making 5 handling errors and conceding 1 penalty. His running stats were quite impressive with 1 line break, 1 tackle break and 9 runs for 132m....... = 2/10#2 Semi Radrada - Semi played well with limited oppotunity, most of the attack was down Hopoates side of the field. In saying this Semi did produce a couple of eye catching runs down the left hand side which with a bit of luck could of resulted in tries. Semi produced 1 offload, 5 tackle breaks, 11 runs for 155m with the 1 error....... = 7/10#4 Ryan Morgan - Morgan was very quite last night. Not sure wether his confidence isn't quite there as a result of not being in the side for most part of the season. It never helped that most of the attacking raids were down Hopoates side of the field but he also never came in field to relieve the forwards with a few hit ups like we have seen from Morgan in previous seasons. Morgan made 2 tackle breaks, 5 runs for 40m and made 9 tackle missing 2............ = 4/10#3 Will Hopoate - Hopoate tried hard all game for the Eels, he regularly threw himself in at first receiver to cart the ball up for some tired forwards down in our end of the field. Will is showing some real nice potential and I don't think it is far away before he carves a team up on his own. Hopoate made 1 offload, 4 tackle breaks, 12 runs for 131m, 21 tackles with 6 missed and 1 error......... = 7/10#5 Ken Sio - Sio is in top form at the moment. When he moved to fullback, you could really see the confidence streaming out of him. The Eels looked far more dangerous with his attacking runs and good positional play from fullback. Sio made 16 runs for 159m, 1 offload, 2 tackle breaks, 4 tackles and 2 errors....... = 7/10#6 Corey Norman - although the result tells us otherwise I think Norman had one of his better games for us. Norman defended very well last night making a few big cover tackles and even a try saving one out wide and scored what was a consolation try more than anything. Norman made 8 runs for 109m, 17 tackles with 1 missed and also conceded a penalty....... 6/10#7 Chris Sandow - Not one of Chris's better games for the season through my eyes. Sandows kicking game in the Panthers half was average and never allowed us to build any pressure with a lot of kicks going dead. Sandow never tackled well either last night and he was another one who was constantly targeted in defence. Sandow scored a try, had 1 try assist, 1 tackle break, 8 runs for 61m, 23 tackles for 8 missed and 1 error............ = 5/10#8 Tim Mannah - I thought Tim looked a bit out paced early in the game losing the wrestle with the Panthers forwards but he did make a nice impact when coming back on later in the game. In saying that though he did try his heart out like he does every week for us. Mannah made 15 hit ups for 121m with 2 tackle breaks, 34 tackles with only 2 missed and conceded a penalty......... = 7/10#9 Nathan Peats - Peats although trying his heart out looks in need of a few weeks break. Hampered by a knee injury all night which seen him spend a bit of time on the sideline. Peats made 2 run for 29m and 32 tackles for 5 missed........ = 5/10#10 Darcy Lussick - Darcey surprised me last night making what seemed to be a nice impact early in the game before coming off injured. Lussick made 6 runs for 42m, 14 tackles and 2 errors.......... = 3/10#11 David Gower - I thought Gower was a little bit off the pace early on last night but was still reliable like he always seems to be. Gower made 9 runs for 81m with 3 tackle breaks, 27 tackles with 3 missed, 1 error and conceded a penalty........ = 6/10#12 Manu Ma'u - Easily our best player on the park last night. Ma'u is simply hungry for work and when the team is under pressure bringing the ball out of our end, you can garuntee that he will be there chipping away. His effort last night faultless and it amazes me how many times he gets belted and still wants more. Ma'u made 14 runs for 151m with 1 offload and 3 tackle breaks and 33 tackles with 6 missed.......... = 8/10#15 Peni Terepo - I thought Peni lacked any real punch early on but made a few nice hit ups when coming back on off the bench later in the match with his good leg speed. Terepo made 8 runs for 71m with 2 tackle breaks and 15 tackles with 2 missed.......... = 5/10#13 Joseph Paulo - Paulo needed the starting forwards to be dominating if he was any chance of coming on and making an impact. In saying that Paulo did get through a mountain of work in defence making 42 tackles with only 2 missed, he also made 9 runs for 64m and produced a very silly error from dummy half........................ = 6.5/10#14 Pauli Pauli - Came on and made a slight impact. I would like to see Pauli get in there and hit the ball up more often than what he does. In saying that though he scored an impressive try. Pauli made 5 runs for 43m with a tackle break and a line break, 20 tackles and 2 errors.......... = 6/10#16 Junoir Paulo - Paulo came on and produced his usual impact making it hard for opposition players to tackle him. He also tackles very well for the size of him. Paulo made 10 runs for 111m with 2 tackle breaks and 2 offloads and made 26 tackles with 1 missed............ = 7/10#17 Mitchell Allgood - I think Mitchell tried hard against his former club but his performance was overshadowed by the lifting tackle which has seen him placed on report. Allgood got through a mountain of work in defence making 37 tackles for 1 missed and 6 runs for 55m with an offload and 2 tackle breaks................ = 6/10Overall I think it was a game we never really got going in but there were some promising signs at times aswell. The team I would select for next week taking into calculation that Lussick will be out and Allgood suspended would be :1- Hayne2- Radrada3- Tonga4- Hopoate5- Sio6- Norman7- Sandow8- Mannah9- Peats10- Paulo11- Ma'u12- Mossop13- Edwards14- Paulo15- Gower16- Pauli17- Terepo.................. • HOW the hell does Allgood rate a 6??

What is it about him that ppl don't seem to notice his efforts?

    • I'll never know Macy! Without Allgood (and Gower) defending we would have lost by 50.....

  • People love to blame allgood. I don't know why. He defends really well and bends the line more often then not.
You can definitely see when he gets pissed off, and then he tries even harder. I rate him.
  • Yep TE. probably just want a forward pack that dance around and avoid the hard yards.

  • Nice summary. I think you were too generous overall - pretty dispiriting performance by most, with some putting in more effort than others.
    • Team average of 5.74? I would have given them a 3.5....
  • Excellent recap, Scott. If you did not know the score and someone told you the team run metres, you would think we won. Our handling errors in promising movements were the main reason for the towelling. Second was the lack of aggression in defence. Too much waiting to see what the Ruff was going to do with the ball. As I said in another post, it seemed like it was going to be one of those nights from early on. Very impressed with BA in the presser. You can see he's locked away the lessons from last night and is working towards creating a good footy side.

  • In saying that noticed at least twice Penrith hands all over ball & leaning on player trying to rise to play the ball & no penalty.

    • Home ground advantage my friend. And the guys who run our club want to take more games away so the opposition continue to get these types of calls go their way. We get them calls go our way at parra stadium no doubt about it.

"He played two weeks I think at left centre last year at the start. We abandoned that quickly but maybe we can consider it next year with Russell gone. Maybe a year or two next to the fox would sort him out."
