Exactly, I agree with you guys!
Show we are solid with our team and don't allow the bullying by the NRL to sell our players and break their bond..
Play and win, points or not.
Stay strong for next year and refuse to assume the position the NRL wants us to take.
I think the whole club including primary stakeholders should come together and agree to the direction as a whole.
Stay strong, stay united and baton down the hatches against all and sundry.
We need to keep gordan, norman, foran and peats. This year is a write off for the greater good. The players around them are irrelevant. I realise gordan is old but he came into the grade later than usual and i reckon has some years left in him.
These positions are most important in EVERY team ever that have won the comp.
keep this team together play for themselves points or no points
I am coming around to this point of view.
If Peats doesn't want to go, the club can't make him, and he shouldn't be forced.
With Junior Paulo's off field drama's and the fact he is going to canberra next year, I would accept if he was moved early.
But I don't want to move a player who is good and wants to stay at the club and who the other players respect.
You are right it will ruin the morale of the team.
I reckon it is a decision that should be made by the playing group - the players and coaching staff. BA would have a good read on how either decision would affect the group. Not playing for points may be more detrimental to the group than loosing a player/mate - who knows...
I've got no problem whatsoever with them telling the NRL to go f@@k themselves. They may not be playing for points but they would sure as shite be playing for themselves, the jersey and the fans. Here at 1EE we could set up our own ladder on the front page showing where we would have been sitting in the comp had we been playing for points. POints mean NOTHING unless you can get to the semis - and we have no hope.
I reckon BA needs to make the right decision, in consultation with his senior players and staff, for the playing group going forward - whatever that may be.
We have to look beyond 2016. We need to keep Peats as De Gois will probably be finished soon.
I would have rather seen Gower and DeGois go as they are not our long term future.
If it means play for no points then I am all for it.
