Pirtek Stadium Stats Blog Pt 3: The Canterbury Bulldogs

Time for part 3 of the Pirtek Stadium stats blogs and it's the team we all love to hate, our fierce rivals, the Canterbury Bulldogs!
There have been some big clashes against them in recent years, all at ANZ, but there were just as many interesting clashes at Pirtek dating back to the mid 80's and as recently as 2007.

  • Ricky, does that mean we have only played one of our fiercest rivals, the dogs, fifteen times in all the years at Parra? Thought it's been awhile since they played us at home but that's an outrageous and preposterous travesty of justice!

Thanks for the stats. Think I'm one of the only ones sad to see our magic home ground gone though :(
    • Yep, pretty much, Macy.

After 07, all our games against the Dogs moved to ANZ.

Maybe once we have our own stadium rebuilt, the games will move back to Parramatta.

      S'all good.

  • Can anyone shed some light on the Leabeater send-off?

    • Fight with Gillespie right?
  • I think from memory, the 56-4 win was the last time we beat a team by a 50+ margin (obviously not the last time we scored over 50 points, though). If you could confirm this, Ricky?
    • Yep, that was the last time we've won a game by a fifty point margin.

We actually had two 50-pt win margins that one year. One against the Knights also.

  • Presumably, yes, given Gillespie was binned during the same incident.

Was just wondering if anyone that was present at the game or remembers it can shed light on the nature of it and how it occurred.
