Piggy

With Piggy Riddell back in Australia, does anyone know where he is playing in 2011?

  • Hopefully not for us! There's no more vacancy at the Parramatta Retirement Home.
  • Webb, Maitua and Walker are has-beens with discipline issues and poor reputations off the field. None of them has played a decent game in many years. Sounds very much like Piggy Riddell. Maybe he will be our next major signing. That would just round out a wonderful recruiting campaign!!
  • It won't be with us.
Last I heard, he was still in England, looking for either a new deal in the ESL or wanting to come back to the NRL.
  • he was close to signing with us, but we opted for Maitua, i know England is not an option, he needs to be in Syd for his sick mother......... maybe he'll hang up the boots or give Union a try cause no sydney clubs are in need of his services unfortunately
  • Piggy would put that extra dimention into the dummy half , he would be great value . The guy has guts ,grit ,skill plus can eat more maccas than the eels team combined
  • lwe got casey mguire tho so no need for piggy.
  • i heard that if he couldnt get signed in the NRL that it was time to hang up his boots, as he wqsnt leaving Wigan cause hes home sick, his mother was sick or something and wants to be by her side
  • If Piggy can't find a club get him invloved in some way at the Parra... the game needs characters. Maybe he can be social club president :)
  • i would much rather parramatta signed piggy then those other has beens
  • personally i would like to see Piggy back with us.

It's a shame that the NRL website has dumped the acrchive games, as there were some good matches on there showing us all how Piggy used to be for us.

I have a soft spot for Riddell in the blue and gold.

The man was a real character and is still playing good football in the English Super League.

BUT ... i am not sure we have the room with the salary cap ....

anyhoo, it's all "fantasy football" really, Riddell playing for us next year is about as likely as Thurston turning out in the blue and gold and Parra not losing a single match until round 12 .... losing rounds 21 and 22 .... then not losing another match for the rest of the season ....

would be nice, but VERY unlikely to happen!!
