I can understand why Mark Riddell would run. He's been asked to be on a ticket. That would be flattering. Also, there is prestige and a few perks with being on the board. But it's bloody hard work. I get why he's throwing his hat in the ring.
That said, I'm not happy with any candidates who bad-mouth other candidates or the Club. Play the ball, not the man. You've gotta be better than that if you want my vote. I judge your conduct during the election as a reflection of what you'll do in the job. Don't get on Twitter and sling mud at the very place you want to run.
That also shows me that you can't play well with others. It's a seven person board. You gotta work with six other people and you need to make it work. If he thinks that Fitzy mob will grab all seven seats he is misinformed. If you're running around social media claiming the club doesn't treat people with respect you're embarrassing the club. I want people that will hold the club in high esteem and not tarnish it's name for personal gain.
It's a crap look if you're retweeting from 'NRL Gossip' and a claim that 'U know they are in trouble when they do this to one of their own!' I'd like to know who 'THEY' are? Is it the Club or the Board or Sharp's ticket?
In many ways I feel for the former players who get pulled onto these tickets. Those behind the scenes are doing so, only as a way to pull votes and with no regard to the tarnishing of whatever legacy they left behind as a player. There is certainly a perception that you win Parramatta elections on the strength of whatever former players you have backing you. I hope with all my heart that this is the election we grow up as a club and do whats right and not out of some emotive loyalty to those that served us proudly but in a totally different and unrelated capacity. I think its telling that from day dot Parrafirst was organically led by Steve Sharp and that hes not just been a pawn pulled in to play a role and win some votes.
"Some players need to get sacked from a club and risk losing it all before they really knuckle down and put in the work. Why did he get sacked, was it lack of discipline for footy and training or off field issues?"
"I love Twidle, you can just tell he is not a robotic NRL player, he plays with instincts. Not saying he is Munster, but Munster plays the same. Apa gets the ball, looks to see what is infront of him and says "Let's try this". That can be dangerous…"

Ive lost what little respect i had for Mark, hes an embarrassment to himself and now hes an embarrassment to the club.
And he looks like a complete disgrace too..
Someone asked him about him turning up drunk to training one time and he said that it was a long time ago and that it should be forgotten.
