Pick the side and win!

Ok, here is an officially sanctioned teamsheet discussion. There are a number of options for Daniel Anderson for this week and a number of variables (ie will cayless be named, etc) So who will be this afternoon's side? Pick the side and you win my admiration .-) Here's mine and I have no inside mail this week. 1. Jarryd Hayne 2. Luke Burt 3. Kris Inu 4. Joel Reddy 5. Eric Grothe 6. Daniel Mortimer 7. Jeff Robson 8. Nathan Cayless 9. Matt Keating 10. Fuifui Moimoi 11. Nathan Hindmarsh 12. Ben Smith 13. Todd Lowrie 14. Kevin Kingston 15. Broderick Wright 16. Kris Keating 17. Tim Mannah UPDATE: DOH! I forgot about Feleti, he'd be on my bench for Kris, who I'd put at 18 but I'm disqualifying myself for being a moron

  • I hate doing team lists.....

    1. Jarryd Hayne 2. Luke Burt 3. Kris Inu 4. Joel Reddy 5. Eric Grothe 6. Daniel Mortimer 7. Jeff Robson
    8. Tim Mannah 9. Matt Keating 10. Fuifui Moimoi 11. Nathan Hindmarsh 12. Ben Smith 13. Todd Lowrie
    14. Kevin Kingston 15. Broderick Wright 16. Kris Keating 17. Feleti Mateo
    • If Cayless isn't named, I'm with this too Johno
      • That was my thinking!
    • Tbh mate it never really crossed my mind to use both Keating and Kingston off the bench. However the more i think about having 2 creative players off the bench, the more i believe it could work a treat. I think we really could use this game as a massive experiment, heading into the final rounds

By having Kinga off the bench we have the luxury of keeping the MK/Kingston rotation going, which is proving a real ace card for us.

The option KK gives us is him getting a run at half at some point during the game and Robson to the bench (or if needed we could use him at 9/13), this will let us see if as a team we can still operate effectively.

The lack of props is a worry, however i think hindy or Lowrie could fill this void if needed and are both 80 minute players. Then we have Mateo/Smith as the other two backrowers. We have enough utility players to fill the voids, i have no doubt.

However i doubt highly that DA would do this, even though it is against the Warriors, i still think he keep us playing to our strengths.
      • I think Anderson has already asked the question: "Do I need 5 forwards on the park at the same time?" And he's answered it with a no, as he's often had both Keating and Kingston on the park at the same time. If Cayless is out, I reckon KK will definitely be on that bench.

The benefit he's got is all our forwards now, with the possible exception of Timmy Mannah are very high workrate forwards. I reckon Hindy, Feleti, Lowrie and Smith could all play eighty minutes if they had to and Brod Wright has a great workrate too. Even Fuifui's workrate has been impressive of late.

Ando's is going to end up asking himself, do I give KK a go off the bench or do I bring in another forward as a one-week stop gap measure. I think Johno's team will probably get named and EelLectric's side will run onto the park.
  • Surely Mateo comes back this week??? I guess match fitness will be the issue DA has in bringing him back. So, in that case I see Mateo starting from the bench with Ben Smith starting. The other option is to leave the Ben Smith on the bench, bring Latimore in to the 17 and start Brod Wright in the 2nd-row. I think your bench is a little skinny 1-Eeyed. So, after all that speculation here is what I think will be named...

    1. Jarryd Hayne 2. Luke Burt 3. Kris Inu 4. Joel Reddy 5. Eric Grothe 6. Daniel Mortimer 7. Jeff Robson
    8. Nathan Cayless 9. Matt Keating 10. Fuifui Moimoi 11. Nathan Hindmarsh 12. Ben Smith 13. Todd Lowrie
    14. Kevin Kingston 15. Broderick Wright 16. Feleti Mateo 17. Tim Mannah

    14. Kevin Kingston 15. Broderick Wright 16. Ben Smith 17. Tim Mannah

I think this is our best side with players available, it would be interesting to see if KK and Mateo can slot back in the side without disrupting our cohesion at the moment.
    • I love that side, RealEel. I just don't think its going to happen this week

No match fitness, over cautious with his injury, too much pressure to turn the teams fortunes etc etc..."
