Phil Rothfield's NSW Origin side

What do you think boys?

I wouldn't pick Josh Perry if he was the last prop left in NSW.  Not a fan at all.  I'd rather have Galloway starting, he had an awesome year last year and has started well again this year and monstered our boys last week.

I'd start Carney instead of Bird, Bird onto the bench as he is Origin through and through and needs to be somewhere.

I wouldn't have Waterhouse in there either, not sure who I would replace him with but I'm not sure Hindy is playing well enough at the moment to warrant that spot.  I wouldn't mind seeing someone like Dan Hunt (Dragons) in there he's an absolute terrier and would relish Origin.  I'd probably even throw Chris Heighington in there too, I reckon he would tear it up!!

  • I would definately include Hayne, the Morris twins, Jennings, Bird, Weyman, Watmough, Creagh, Gallen and Galloway. The other selections are contentious. There is no way the selectors will leave Gidley out of the team if he's fit.

As for the captaincy, I'm not sure Farrah will get picked in front of Ennis (will depend on the next few weeks). Perhaps we should lean towards a co-captaincy of Gidley (because there is no room for him in the starting side) and someone else who will play 80 mins or close to it. I still would like to see Gallen fill this role but I know this is not a popular choice. Queenslanders would be laughing at our captaincy dilemma, considering that should Lockyer retire they have Smith, Thurston, Prince and Civoniceva to step into the role.
  • 1. Hayne
    2. Morris (St George) haha i always mix them up!
    3. Morris (Dogs)
    4. Jennings (Although i'd love to see his defence improve)
    5. Lawrence... or Uate perhaps? (Yes he is elligible)
    6. Mullen
    7. Pearce (Stick with them both, even if they don't do so well, we need some consitancy in the halves)
    8. Weyman
    9. Ennis
    10. Galloway

  • Its ridiculous that Rothfield basically ran a petetion to have Hindmarsh included in the State of Origin last year and he has completely backtracked on that on the basis of three average games at the beggining of a long season.

He has no clout anyway so who cares.
  • i know he's getting on a bit, but Kimmorley was the only half to win us a game last year and hasn't done a whole lot wrong since..
  • so everyone has discarded poore from the team? not even a mention. i think he has to be a forward option? if not then i sure am glad we payed 350 000 for him........

    he was there last year.

also think jamie lyon the douchebag might get included somewhere in the team. besides those two players the team pretty much picks itself.
pearce and mullen for halves combo. please no peter wallace hes shit house.
  • robbie farah is a clubman! nothing more, most probably less!
he is the worst player to play origin!
michael ennis will take his spot!
Lawrence and Jennings have done nothing! Tahu has better hope at starting centre!
  • Lyon (the Dog) never really wants to play rep footy and never wants to be picked. So if his heart is not in it, i woudl definately not pick him.
  • So you rate Adrian Brunker over Robbie Farrah?? Please.
  • Gotta have Barrett in the side unless he is playing really bad..... I don't recall him ever playing a bad game for the blues.

Bird too has won so many MOM awards at rep level..... he can play 13 or 17.

7 is too hard to pick.... Kimmorley and Pearce at present but time will tell.... It's Kimmorley's jumper at the moment... Pearce needs to do more.
