  • Phil Gould is a proven winner as a coach I would not have minded him at the Eels at all.
  • Then Gould wouldn't have enough time to referee during games or appear on The Roast and we can't have that.
  • Gus would have been great, he would have had the balls to make the big decisions, he knows how to create a winning culture....
  • I don't think he was offered the job, as far as I know Parra had $700,000 set aside and were prepared to offer it to him but didn't. Kearney is the better choice.

"Randy,  An interesting one.
I suppose coaches trust certain players or believe they're the best fit for the team, even if club form or a high minute count aren't there.
I'd choose you for x-factor even if you only had 5 minutes of form."

"Hoe, I dislike the idea that a player can be selected for Aust with only 480 club minutes on show...and not all of them good. How can he have form without playing?
Perhaps a rule that said 10 nrl games to be eligible for Aust would help everyone"

Like Ricky Stuart, Ryles seems happy to show the door to a player not buying in.
Also, didn't Stuart call Hudson Young's dropping from an Origin game last year "disgraceful"? Seems…"
