First of all it was a very satisfying win against the Panthers last night with lots of positives to take out of the game. Notably, our defense, discipline and completion. Also good signs from D. Brown, Fergo, Ma'u, Terepo, Lane, Mahoney and the goliath of a man SIVO. Which leads me to the topic I wanted to touch on.
When Sivo scored his try in the second half as he nonchalantly brushed aside the Panthers defender I found it very interesting that Lord Gus Gould had absolutely no idea who the ex-panther was. Was it stupidity or just sour grapes?

Gus simply didn't recognise him sitting some distance away in the commentary box. Without a teamlist he didn't know who he was. When he learned his name he pointed out he was from the Panthers.
I must of missed him mention that he was from Penrith. In any event you could see how he could have initially missed that beast of a man, hailed the next Semi Rad hiding on the wing!
100% sour grapes from Gus. I said to my missus straight away, "Look at him, gone all quiet now pretending he doesn't know who he is".
It was more than a minute later when he thought he'd better say something about him. All he said was "He was in the Panthers ISP team last year and scored a ton of tries". Nothing said such as "I don't know how we let him go" or anything like that.
That's what you get Gus, for choosing instead, to extend injury prone Mansour just because the media and his teammates enjoy having him around.
Nah, he knew who he was alright.
I recall G. Gould said about Sivo having played for Penrith after the commentator with him mentioned Sivo was the name of player . So either Gus responded that he had been a Penrith player because Gus recalled the players name or it was as you suggest that Gus already knew who Sivo was but had deliberately kept quiet . Those are the facts and site members can be the jury .
Nice one mate.
Well it's great to have him at Parra that's for sure. He looks the goods in my opinion and what a specimen he is, perfectly built for a winger.
As soon as he got the ball and headed towards the try line, I said to my missus "here he goes", and as I saw the panthers defender coming across towards Sivo, I said "BANG" a split-second before Sivo fended him off because I knew exactly what he was gonna do :)
Hahaha, l made the special effect or rather, the sound effect for his big fend "BANG" just before it happened :) His try capped off a great night
I recall that which makes it even more intriguing that Goulding was Stevie Wonder at the time that Sivo crossed over for the try.
I find it strange the panthers didn’t have a little crack at Sivo. Presumably he’s not on mega bucks. I know they have a few good wingers but surely he has more upside than say DWZ’s brother Malakai or whatever it is? Also Gould likes big wingers. It makes me think either they did make an offer and we actually came over the top with a decent offer or there was something there Cleary or Gould didn’t like. I reckon the former more likely in my opinion.
