Phil Gould isn't that bad!

I've been hearing all of you people dissing Phil Gould, but looking at it in a neutral way, he doesn't support any team, not even the Bulldogs. He views it in a non-bias way and I think he's been a victim of our rabble since we had to find a replacement for Ben Ikin and the fact he always tips the Broncos and Queensland. I seriously don't see what's so bad about him, how can you?

  • Yeh Gould is pretty non-biased and nuetral...

UNTIL WE PLAY have you not heard the dribble he went on with he picks a team and just goes with them all the way and at the end if the team he picks loses he goes "Well that was a suprise never thought (insert team that he picked here) would lose they looked the better team all game'' or something similiar, just listen sometime he is commentating, he did it to us throughout all the finals basically.
    • Eh, I've seen worse
  • You got to be kidding me right... did u not see the tigers vs eels game. It was the most biased commentry i have seen in my whole life, there was one point were a tigers player foot was on the line clearly, and gould was like" benefit of the doubt" and it was clearly out.
  • hes a cock head full stop
  • What planet are you on mate .....mr gould is a over rated has'been......who never really was.....
  • he loves hindmarsh so hes ok
  • Look, what I meant is, you can't just hate someone because they have a different opinion, OK?
    • Agreed Stewie 1!

People seem to miss the point that, although he may talk with a little too much emotion and not enough reason sometimes, he has a very very good Rugby League brain! Most knowledgeable people in the game respect his opinion Surely they cant all be wrong!

He has much to offer Rugby League, and is not a has been as some may say. So what if he bags the eels sometimes... he bags other teams as well. Everyone is bias. Show me one person who isnt and i know they are lying.
      • I COMPLETELY AGREE!! :-) Phil Gould is my favourite of all the commenators. This is simply because I really do not understand some of the finer points of the game, the importance of different positions, or some of the rules. Phil Gould explains it in the clearest way... and while sometimes he can be a goose - it makes it more fun to laugh at him!

P.S. If you listen carefully, Sterlo also has bias... we just don't care because it is toward our team! ;-)
        • Interesting point you raise Mary! I like to think I have a good knowledge of the game, yet Gould makes me think about things in a different way quite often. He has a great grasp of the "finer points" as you put it.

There's just too many haters in this world for my liking! :)

Was I surprised he left? Not really.
To the Raiders though? Yeh, absolutely. Sticky has never shown himself to a great developer of halves. The best…"

"Most pathetic? Come on.
Overrated? Fair enough. Not consistent? Fair call.
Pathetic though? Please. He is a good 5/8. At times great. Last few weeks he has played pretty well off the back of Moses. That has been his issue he needs a good team to do…"

"True Poppa, having someone that can fill both spots in a pinch. I reckon last time we had that was probably Finch in 2010's. Norman could take control but effected his game too much. "
